Re: short delay vs. long delay
One clearer delay at around 400 - 700 ms into a shorter, dark delay at 200-300ms. The shorter delay is almost always on.

Re: short delay vs. long delay
I think I like shorter delays but I only have one, and right now I don't use it.

I couldn't imagine having a goto setting with delay...it all depends on my mood and the piece I'm working with. I'll often change the setting from short to long while playing to fit the groove.

Go-to is more applicable on something like a Space Echo for me. There I'll just hit killswitch if it doesn't apply or I want it off, and use a different delay.
But the Space Echo is its own instrument in and of itself and I like the way it sounds with the motor at specific rates.

Re: short delay vs. long delay
A lot of bucket brigade delays max out around 750ms, right? That always seems just a bit too short to me and I get annoyed. I guess I like about a second with tunable oscillations that can sit just below the clean mix.

Re: short delay vs. long delay
750ms is at the top end of the spectrum too. I feel you. 80% of my delays come from my analog which tops out at about 500ms and anything bigger for that last 20% comes from digital.

Re: short delay vs. long delay
using an analog delay with super short delay times, (almost reverby'), into the front of a dirty tube amp, (fuck that effects loop shit!), is my fave delay sound.
like a daniel ash bauhaus sound. n' stuff.

Re: short delay vs. long delay
Pretty much every where. I got a dd-2 recently and I use a short delay with nearly no feedback from with my reverb pedal (1776 rub-a-dub) for some nice verb tones. Or I set the dd-2 to really short delay to get a comb filter/ Radiohead hunting for bears sound.
Prob around he 400-600 range and the long delays for the frippteonics kind of stuff. Echo park in tape Mode with delay time maxed. I also did this with my timefaxtor when I had it. Max delay time.

Re: short delay vs. long delay
I love getting all Frippy with this thing

I have the decay on the B loop set to like 8-10 repeats and I can set it as long as I want, latch the loop, do it backward or forward..
I hear the Rang III can have the decay rate on expression pedal? CUZ THAT WOULD RULE.
