Well, Minor Threat influenced Rites, and Rites invented Fugazi's sound.
To me... Kyuss is to QOTSA what Rites is to Fugazi. In all ways you might imagine.
Anyway, I concur, I respect the shit out of the Minutemen, and a lot of my favourite artists worship them (eg. Titus Andronicus). But I concur with people who are saying, I never got into them that much.

The minutemen have an album that reminds me of red hot chili peppers, which is arguably my least favorite band ever. Double nickels on the dime is super good though. They're sort of a band where of you jump in at the wrong spot/album it is a little rough
