If it were possible I would love to do an ILF Skype/Google sesh with Rainlet so we can watch how it works and have a real-life Q&A.

For the most part, though, I've begun to get a pretty basic understanding of ppooll finally.
I really don't know how much of a demand the "program" still has, considering Max for Live has kind of stolen some of its potential user base and incorporated it in a more familiar framework to the average user, but I think its still has an irreplaceable depth to it that is at least worth preserving and making accessible.
As time goes on, I may attempt to record a tutorial or two myself, something very forward and foundational, just to establish some of the basics.
I'd love to be more involved, but I between a time-consuming job, practicing/playing/recording guitar, learning Max/MSP better on my own, generally figuring out how to get better with the DAWs I use, and giving my girlfriend her due attention in those sparse moments between it all, it's kind of hard to invest my time in the things I'm passionate about.

I feel the same way about PPOLL as I do Pure Data -- it's really cool to watch other people play with it, but I struggle to find the time and ability to learn it, let alone utilize it creatively, on my own.

I really wish I could be getting to work on this right now. Having nothing more than a phone sucks. I do agree that Max for Live is probably really sucking the life out of ppooll, but there's still probably a non-zero set of weirdos that are too cheap for Ableton but too lazy for PD. As soon as I can get a new computer, I'm starting on this tutorial, though I'm sure that at this point J.K. is probably more knowledgeable than I am. Post some of your shit dude, I'm sure it's better than the tripe I've got dumped on my soundcloud.
Also that Onion article hits way too close to home. Making me a little depressed. Haven't even touched my guitar in a week due to the new job.

Is it the consensus that AudioMulch would offer the best entry point for a novice?

If nothing else, I think AudioMulch an easy way to judge how deep you want to delve into that kind of audio processing. I feel ya on the new job. I'm still learning my new gig, all while juggling Max/MSP tutorials and books, figuring out my AxeFX, getting used to a different OS, and probing around in ppooll. While I haven't actually gotten into ppooll very deeply yet, or even tried recording anything, I have gotten a better sense for how to use it. I swear, in the last month I think I've committed to more items with difficult learning curves than ever before. I'm pretty sure my girlfriend is also less than thrilled about me spending 5 hours a night in front of my workstation, making my computer occasionally squawk out sounds while trying to work through learning materials. I still try to play guitar daily, but I do miss just being able to pick it up, jam out a song, pull it together with a band, and then play live to a bunch of half-attentive punks who bothered coming early for the opening act. Working in front of a computer is a completely different workflow to get used to.

You'll need some way to route the audio to the DAW, unless you're running it on a different computer. I like Soundflower, but that's only doable on OSX, I guess.

I just got a new craptop and had it wiped and am ready to load it up but then I realize that I could just get an iPad and use the apps on my phone for the same price as Audiomulch...

A combination of a few through Audiobus and now Audiobus has remote and everything can run through everything...

Apesoft had some mad apps out... iDensity and iPulseret and Stria along with Zedsynths real time processing can make the cool shizzz...

Anyone played with Alchemy on Logic? It seems like does a lot of the same thing as Omnisphere.
How do you add stuff from an iPad? I suppose I could just run a cable out of the headphone out into my audio interface but I was wondering if Apple had a more direct way especially I'm using a Mac and Logic.
