So, after fluxing around in styles for the pass week, my new band has settle down on a lineup of Keys, Bass VI and Drums. Except we don't want to haul my wife's 2 ton Korg monster, so she had the amazing idea of making a pedalboard for her old shitty casio that would make do all sorts of crazy noise and otherworldlyness, aka awesome shit.
That's were you guys come in: what the hell do I put in it? Help me bounce ideas here.

A nice slow phaser (well one that has range or a flanger, but I prefer phaser lately), an octave divider fuzz or something in that direction (octasynth, tone axe, mu-fx, blue box...something in that realm), some big sounding fuzz (big muff or something with sustain), envelope filter (ARF or the Moog), some kind of delay... I think that should get you pretty far (a PWM fuzz would be fun too)....get them with CV options and you should be able to do a ton,

Fuck I just sold my A/DA flanger. I do have a Meatball that could get weird.

Too bad man.
Meatball would be perfect...look into one of those chrome morley phasers...thing is a volume, manual phase and treadle speed control-LFO phase in one. And it goes Low. Got mine for 100

Whammys are really good with keys, especially when you combine the harmony modes with some distortion--my Fuzz Factory was my go to for keys when I had it. If I had to recommend only one piece of gear though, I'd definitely say to cop one of the old digitech PDS delays. They are my absolute favourite delays to use with keyboards and synths, especially if you have them in a table top set up for ready tweaking. Repeatedly jamming sounds into a loop with the repeat hold function creates the best rhythmic pad sounds I've ever heard and, since keys can sustain forever, the hold function also becomes an instant drone button. There's also something magical about the way they handle playback rate changes. Slowing down loops with the delay time creates some seriously gnarly bass.
Earthquaker Devices Arpanoid? Dwarfcraft Wizard of Pitch (when it gets released). Hell, the two of those together could unleash all sorts of crazy.
A BitQuest would be a perfect pedal to have mounted right next to the synth - tons o' crazy fx, plus the soft switch would make it a cinch to engage by hand.
Kaoss Pad right next to the keyb where the left hand can tweak parameters while the right hand makes music (or vice versa). Or Alesis Ineko, AirSynth, UCreate Music, etc. andonandon....

Count To Five is amazing on keys! Drones, harmony, reverse, crazy noisesss, weird loops in different times. Good stuff. That and some heavy fuzz should get you to a nice place. I like my TAFM and BDSM best for transmitting the full frequency range keys can do, anything with enough low end is cool. But then again sometimes it sounds rad to run keys through a really thin fuzz and lose all the lows. Solution? Lots of fuzz!
