Hmm, that might actually work. Not as precise as a treadle I'd imagine, but better than nothing.

I don't see why wouldn't that work. You only need to wire a jack out of the pot and use an expression pedal with roughly the same value of the pot you want to control.neonblack wrote:Andrew tried to give it expression control but he said it didn't work out.
I got tired of bending over to adjust everything so I went with pedals with presets for everything that is not dirt. I wish I was a more simple person.

Re: The Whatever Thread .. For Gear!!
I've been thinking of building a servo based third hand kinda thing that works off RC. Or even just with an exp pedal and a switch. If I ever get one done, I'll let you know. (been on my mind for 15 years, so yea).neonblack wrote:Is there an alternative to a third hand expression pedal? I want to be able to control the depth on my RM-1N on the fly without having to bend down and mess with it. Keeping it off my board isnt really an option right now. Andrew tried to give it expression control but he said it didn't work out.
Alternatively, does anyone have a third hand pedal they could sell me?
Strap it to your guitar Devo style?
It probably didn't work because of the exp pedal values and the RM-1n pot value.

Jaysus--I want a 3rd Hand--got an EBay notice of one for a BIN less than $70 but it was snatched before I even got the email.

Andrew said if he ever figured it out he'd mod mine. I would abuse the shit out of that feature for sure. Crazy verb swells ALL DAY.
In other news, I want a Fuck to put at the end of my chain SO BAD. I never bonded with it on Bass, but I definitely see a ton of use for it now.
I realize I want to loop awesome crackly messed up washy fuzz walls and play dry clear punchy riffs over it. If that makes sense. Dry like no verb. Still dirt.

Re: The Whatever Thread .. For Gear!!
when you turn the mix all the way down on the reverberator can you notice a difference in dry signal? any highs or lows roll off? does it compress or lose volume when being SLAMMED with fuzz? wondering the same for the DBA reverb
I'm at my wit's end searching for reverbs..noticed the supernatural robbing beautiful tones from my fuzz so I handed it off to my bass player and it sounds amazing on bass! so there that goes. I don't know if my RM-1N is fucked up or what, but I have to have it at the beginning of my chain now cause it just can't hang volume wise..so here I am back on the hunt for a reverb to go at the end of my chain. thinking reverberator or dba reverb, but if either of those roll off any kind of tone I'm just going to rely on the v4's reverb and call it a day

Re: The Whatever Thread .. For Gear!!
I find the RM-1N has serious volume issues if you're trying to do clean reverb with it. I have to have the volumn, mix, and depth up all the way to keep it at unity which is sort of a bummer. I'd like to have only one reverb pedal, but I think I'm going to need a second one just for clean reverb because the RM-1N can't hang there.

I don't find any volume issues with mine.

You can turn the pre gain up just slightly until you hit the right volume. doesn't take much.
DBA reverb is plenty loud but it has some weird mid bump that just sounds off. Especially noticeable when you turn it off.
RRR is the best clean verb I've played. Boosts like a mofo and doesn't make my dirt all fucky.
