Deluxe Memory Man exp. pedal mod?

Post by MaggotBrainNY »

Has anyone here successfully done this? I'd love to have an exp. pedal option to control the feedback. Curious if it's simple enough to do on your own, rather than sending it to Analog Man.

Should be simple. I haven't, but what I'd do is:

1) Cut the traces immediately downstream of the pot you want for an expression pedal. Jumper those traces to the center row of a 3pdt switch.
2) Jumper one of the other row of lugs to the lugs of the pot you just isolated. Make sure you don't swap traces.
3) Jumper the 3rd row to the lugs of a trs jack. You'll have to poke around with a multimeter to find which lug on the jack corresponds to the lugs of the pot in the expression pedal.

So basically in the first position the signal goes from the board, to the switch, back to the pot on the board. In the second position it goes from the board, to the switch, to the pot in the expression pedal.

YMMV, of course. You could also look into using a switched jack if that's more your speed.
