Sitori Sonics products (ever used them?)

Hi,
Just wondering if anyone has any experience with the Sitori Sonics pedals. I'm very interested in the Doob Dreamer and Harem Fuzz. I can't find any youtube demo's, did find a few harmony central reviews, but still I would like to hear some of the pedals....so any opinions are appreciated. Thanks!

The Brownies and Cream (or whatever the name closest to that) is just a GGG board with some goop. There have been threads on other message boards that have described long wait times, inconsistent contact, and overall weirdness of the company.


Don't know if the SY hype is good enough for me.

I miss the acronyms sometimes too, but in this case I believe they're saying that that circuit is just a DIY'ed circuit from General Guitar Gadgets (a DIY pedal site) which has had it's board gooped - aka covered with some kind of goop to obscure the values of the components or board layout altogether.

Thought i would update this thread now that i have received my Harem fuzz.

Finally got my pedal after its long stay with customs while crossing the border, i can't explain to you how annoying this is for canadians... but anyways its here now.

Too me it sounds like an opened up and refined muffy fuzz. It definitely retains string clarity where a big muff wouldn't, even with the fuzz knob maxed out. It can go from a fuzzy overdrivey to a clear wall of fuzz sound, it won't get as saturated as a muff but this is a good thing for me as i would never use all the gain in a muff. keep in mind that i'm still in the honeymoon phase but so far i really like it and don't think this will be going anywhere any time soon.

In regards to the pedal itself:
~ yes its a GGG board, I was told that the circuit was once a GGG circuit that was mod'd to produce the sounds they wanted. This is a null issue for me cause most of the super awesome amazing blah blah boutique pedals are just something else with some mods.

~no its not gooped, wiring is neat and looks well done.

~Power- this thing needs audio grade power, ive been neglecting getting a proper power source for my board so when i tried powering it with a generic wallwart it produced a hum when the gain knob was over 1 oclock... with a battery or a isolated constant power supply ie. boss, pedal power etc. its quiet and sounds great. That said none of my other pedals have hummed like this so its obvously picky... Bought a boss adapter and its all good now. Though this is a wake up call for me to finally buy a PP2+ like i have been intending to.

In regards to the company
It was over all a very good experience buying from Sitori Sonics. Due to the fact that demos of their pedals do not exist (something they need to rectify), i spent a lot of time emailing asking Emanual(designer) many questions which he answered promptly. After i had ordered the pedal, due to a delay in shipping and the pedals stay at customs, i was in contact with Will the sales and marketing guy multiple times. At one point when he thought the pedal was lost in the mail he was going to send me another, which in my perspective, says a lot about their commitment to their customers. I wouldn't hesitate to buy from them again and probably will. mmm Tape worm....

Before you ask, no i don't have a recording set up and can't make demos. sorry.

No one stated the Harem fuzz had goop. I don't really know why you'd mod a stock GGG pcb instead of just getting their own made. So maybe they changed a few parts? Whatever the case, doesn't make since to pay more for a "modded" pcb, when you can get them made for cheap.

Glad you got a cool pedal you like, but in regards to the company, I've read people all over the interwebz have complained about delays in shipping, "lost" pedals, and just general dismay when speaking about the Sitori Sonics.

I think the Tape Worm looks cool as hell, but after the bad rep that I've read about I wouldn't buy anything from them.

All of this obviously based on my opinion.

alright if sitori is gettin crapped on around the 'nets, i feel like i should stick up for them. my tapeworm was a week late, but it was because they were moving their shop, and then Will said he'd give me a $50 discount on another pedal since the tapeworm was late, so i got a harem fuzz. both of the pedals look and sound awesome and i'm still talking to Will through emails even though i don't have another pedal on hold or anything, he's just a nice guy and is genuinely curious about how i feel about the pedals.

yeah you didn't say the harem had goop, nor was i saying you did. I was merely stating that MY Harem isn't gooped... as you stated that the brownies and cream you saw did...

It really doesn't matter and i'm confused as to why this even matters...

and FYI: my pedal did take a while to come to me but no delivery date was given, even then they did say i will get a discount for the next pedal i order from them. They are a made to order builder that takes a bit more time than a builder like boss that has warehouses. When compared to the 6 month wait for a skreddy i don't mind.
