another Rattle Crow popped up too if anyone was looking for one. good price just might be a little difficult to import.
That one has been there for months, hasn't it?
Yea, it is here and they do ship internationally: http://www.tcgakki.com/items05/tc056798.html Somebody should pick it up...one of my favorites! Thanks backwardsvoyager!

Also: LAL THREAD RESURRECTION!!! :rock: :success:

Lets not let it die this time, why should the Seppukians have all the fun?

The 2k 45 was/is crazy. Got me wondering how many there are out there, and how many LAL-bois there are in teh earth.

Those prototypes still make me all hot and bothered. Also the vague idea of a 87 v2. Hey, Galvar, I facebookspotted ya. :hello:

Glad to see LAL get some exposure via Pedals 'n Effects. Hopefully it doesn't push the prices further up into unobtainability. :erm:

Sentences and smilies.
Yea, LAL gotta represent! Been meaning to get it out of obscurity for a while. I think LAL gets a lot of exposure. I mean lots of famous people using them and Hiro did mention something about a project with Mike Patton on facebook.LAL has been around a long time and probably has a lot of fans out there...but they seem to be pretty realistic overall (not a lot of crazy overpay going on...but that is partially because Hiro does a good job keeping supply up).

Speaking of Facebook....uh oh. I can't hide!

Yea, 87 v2 (maybe called 89? haha, it would be awesome!) ... When are any of them getting released!?!?

Yeah, true, LAL has been around longer than most of todays brands. And once you go LAL, you never go... bal?

Man, 89 - «oscillo god» would be sweet. Man, du you think we'll live to see 100 - revenge of the oscillo? What's up with that naming system btw? Was there ever a 1, or did he go straight to the forties/eighties?

I doubt we will ever see 100. But 87 reissue and an 89....now I would be real happy with that! haha.

I think the 45, 46, 86, 87, 88 is a take on the Zero type naming scheme. None of those numbers are used in the traditional scheme.

The zero fighter models:
Image

But looking at it as the 40's are somekind of superfuzz and the 80s are all osc fuzzes, it kinda makes sense. Maybe it is a reference to them all being built on the same chasis with different parts and uses kinda like interceptor/fighter/land fighter/carrier fighter/fighter bomber? The 41/42 from the picture were experimental/never production models (and never named that...it was more of a name that was put on a captured Zero). So I guess 40s and 80s were picked to avoid being in the zero model scheme, with the 70s and 90s still being open for use (or maybe I am thinking to hard).

More overthinking:
Shin-Ei Companion -> 41
Shin-Ei Superfuzz -> 42
Ace Tone -> 43
Roland Bee Baa -> 44
LAL Sooper Fuzz -> 45 -> 46 -> 47?(though I don't really know how the superfuzz could be pushed further and still be a super fuzz)
|
---------------------------------->86 oscillating variant
Or

Code: Select all

Companion 15
  \---> Superfuzz 25
    \---> Bee Baa 35
      \---> LAL 45 ---> 46 ---> 47 (?)
        \-----> 86 ---> 96 (?)
          \---> 87 ---> 97 (?)
          \---> 88 ---> 98 (?)

....maybe something like that? Maybe if there is a variant or reboot of the 87 it would be called the 97 to fit with the scheme?

45 and 86 were the first as far as I can remember. 86 and 87 were also made at the same time for a while (as was the 45...then I took 7-8 years off from pedals and guitar...so don't know when things got discontinued, etc).

That is some rad overthinking, feels like I learnt something, and it does make sense. It is supposed to be based on Japanese fighter planes. Now, these planes were sometimes used for suicide missions, often dubbed hara-kiri. Hara-kiri is colloquial, simply meaning stomach cut or something like that. The official term? Seppuku. It all connects, maaaan. :success:

But seriously, I need to get my hands on an 87. And hopefully an 89. :D

Need to check out an 46 at some point too, love the Superfuzz, but never tried LALs.

46 is heavy man...

But doing some more research.....
Ki-43 Hayabusa 一式戦闘機 (Army Type 1 fighter) -> Ki-44 Shōki -> LAL 45 -> LAL 46 .... eh, maybe?
Ki-84 Hayate 四式戦闘機 (Army Type 4) -> (maybe the 86 prototype) -> LAL 86 -> LAL 87 -> LAL 88

They aren't Zeros though... :idk: and there was a Ki-45 dragon slayer and a Ki-46 Shiki Recon plane...

I think the zero naming is more correct than this one. :idk:

Fun to think about....you know I'll always find what I am looking for, Hagbard Celine.

Nice, that makes even more sense. Gasing for an old, Japanese fighter plane now. An oscillating one. Dragon slayer sounds epic. Maybe that's why it costs 2k.

Could probably just ask Hirofumi as well. And bug him about those prototypes. :drool:

Still some of his current production models I need to try out, though. And I got to get my hands on a SPK.
