If this is what I think it is, then I imagine all kinds of goodness. Probably still all kinds of goodness even if it's something else entirely...

Re: calling the super-small-scale pedal builders....
OK, the reveal: Netflix for boutique pedals.
Yes, I am well aware there is another competitor doing the same thing, although with more common pedals (and apparently two other business that are now defunct).
Here's why we are different:
1. We are limiting the number of subscribers to manage the ratio of subscribers to inventory. This way the wait-times on pedals and the issues of not having stuff in stock should not come up that often. You will not be stuck with nothing you want in inventory.
2. We will let you pick your pedal(s) using a points system. You get 3 points a month and pedals cost between 1-3 points. Our website will be up shortly where you can browse our inventory of pedals and their corresponding points. Generally speaking, if it costs more than $200 bucks used, it will be 3 points.
3. We have relationships with a number of boutique manufacturers and are going to be first-in-line to get their new pedals. We are trying to carry a lot of the smaller manufacturers. Here are some of the guys we have teamed up with:
--Tom at Fuzzhugger (of course!)
--Scott at Montreal Assembly
--Dan at Snazzy FX
--Adam at Copliot FX
--Peter at VFE
--424 Studios, Function F(x), and some others when they are ready
--and many more!
4. While most of the experienced folks on here know what sounds they are after, if you are new to guitar or just new to pedals or even trying to find a new sound, you can consult us and we will help you pick from our large inventory.
5. Family-run business. We aren't trying to take over the world or the pedal industry or anything like that. We are trying to help spread the love of fuzz and hopefully support new builders and most important get their pedals into new hands. I notice one of the problems most builders have is that is they have a success (like say Scott and CT5), they can't build them fast enough and everyone wants one. By subscribing to our service, it should be at most a month or two until you get your CT5 to play with for 30-days.
6. We don't retail. We aren't in competition with the retail channels.
7. We don't get pedals for free. Yes sometimes some sellers will sell to us at wholesale prices, but that is because we are helping to promote their product. We try to always give objective reviews and demos.
8. We want to stay small. We are going to open the first month of subscriptions to 10 subscribers. Each subsequent month we will add 5-10 more and/or replace subscribers that have dropped out. My wife and I are doing this part-time; we have other jobs.
9. We are always here to help. If you get a pedal and can't figure it out, we will help you.
10. We are going to have like 40 different fuzz pedals, almost all of which are boutique. We LOVE fuzz.
I know all the details aren't clear yet, but if this idea interests you, either as a consumer or as a pedal-builder, please get in touch with me.
Lastly, I know some of you really enjoy flipping gear. That's cool. But if you are tired of having your cash tied up in gear only to find yourself selling it the next month to make rent or medical bills or whatever, consider what we offer: you pay about $1/day to try out 1-3 pedals a month and you never have to worry about losing value or trades going bad or any of that.
Thanks to all of you for putting up with me thus far and we hope to bring a great service to the community. We will be launching our website on Wednesday and begin taking subscriptions then. Again, first month is limited to 10 spots.

Re: calling the super-small-scale pedal builders....
we'll definitely consider international customers. You interested?
The way we do postage is we split it: we pay to get the pedal(s) to you, you pay to get it back to us. That way everyone stays even on shipping.
I know 'the other' service pays for shipping, but we are also $10 cheaper.

Re: calling the super-small-scale pedal builders....
I might be. I'm pretty satisfied with the pedals I own, so most of the pedals I'd normally be buying I go "do I want to pay 25% taxes + $20-40 in import fees just to try that pedal?". Renting would let me try stuff I normally wouldn't (because Norway is the land of TGP+black metlol pedals) without the risk of not liking what I recieve and in the process having spent maybe $100 in BS fees that I'm not getting back when I flip the pedal. I like the idea of it, at least.

Thanks for the encouragement. Like I said, I think we would do international; Canada should be no problem and same goes for most of Europe.
If anyone has suggestions / feedback, we'd love to hear them.
