DIY noise synth oscillator drone thingies?!?
Anyone know of any? I really like the look and sounds of the Rucci Electronics stuff, but I feel like that is something I could wire up myself. I've made an Atari Punk Console, and that was pretty cool, but I'm looming for something more exciting, preferably on Vero. Anyone have any recommendations?

I was hoping to avoid kits and make something from scratch, but I have been intrigued by their offerings for a while now....

Start with a feedback loop and a preamp/eq. Or an oscillating fuzz. Look for modular schematics to add from there (like lfos, s+h, filters and stuff). Tie it all together in a box.
You could also probably just find oscillator schematics and just send them a cv signal with a 555 timer circuit or something. Or just make oscillators out of 555's.

+1 on the 555 oscillator as a starting point - they are classics.
the 556 is a couple of 55s in a single package - good for playing around with
There are some low-power 555s too (the 555 can drive some stuff, but for a function generator you don't really need to drive much)
LM386s are simple little current mirror audio amps (abt 1/4 watt) but you can have hours of fun doing things to them and the external part count is low

baby 8 sequencer vero layout can be found at electromusic.com. a relatively easy build.
wsg (weird sound generator) is on vero and pcb at mfos. verified vero layout there. ugly format but verified.
colin at experimentalists.com has some interesting projects in his schematics, but you will need to translate them to vero.

Beavis has some cool stuff based around the 40106 chips.

Last time I checked, Beavis was gone.

Shit here's a few links to other sites with his circuit. I think I have his images on a hard drive, will check and post em up if I do.

Plus, there's always webarchive, right? A lot of great sites have gone down over the years.

Nice. But I'm confuzzled about the TS CV out rather than TRS. Is the TRS only for expression inserted into the CV circuit?

I've been having a blast with CMOS stuff recently.
