Hey, we agreed that Maine is #1 awesome state, well, NJ is a firm #2. I went to New York City once but to save coin I shacked up in East Rutherford and TBH? I remember way more about East Rutherford, Secaucus, and Sussex County than I do about NYC. I went to NYC to see Boris play but in NJ, I went to a state fair where they had a fucking giraffe you could feed carrots to and I swear like three dozen different breeds of chickens. There was a Goya juice factory, a Medieval Times restaurant, and 24-hour diners on every corner that served shortstacks... chocolate frappes... Taylor ham... TBH I still dream of moving there LOL. Plus Equal Vision records is based there, and Bruce Springsteen, Saves the Day, Thursday, Lifetime, (I know you hate those bands but to me that's like fucking heaven), plus Titus Andronicus (who I think you would like, actually).

Final comment, metalcore is a bad genre, but there are some good bands in it.

Josh Scogin's bands, Norma Jean, and especially The Chariot, are mindblowingly good.

The Chariot and Indian both sound very similar, one being metalcore, one being doom, but both focussed on bludgeoning repetition, white noise, simple, punishing riffs, vocals pushed to the point of breaking. Those are my favourite insanely heavy bands of all time.

Plus if you can't dig a good breakdown you must have no sense of fun!

Wow, all of that is really shitty. Did anything ever happen to him? Any of the girls have anything on him? I read on the RAINN site that 97% of rapists never face any consequences.

Uh...im 100% not a rape apologist but pretty much all those girls partied ALOT. Im not saying THEY ASKED FOR IT but I'm pretty sure most of them didn't think anyone would believe them. It was a different time even ten years ago. Accusations of rape between people who partied were really treated as a civil thing unless there was substantial violence involved...at least at most of the schools I've been at.

Im not very proud to say it but I was one of those people who didn't believe them when they said it. At that point no one i knew that i trusted to remember anything clearly had said anything but then someone that i knew didn't party like that came out and said he forced himself on her...that was when I started to get suspicious and stopped hanging around him. Then one night after finals i was at a party and was really blitzed and he came over and kinda forced me to go to this other party with him.

I know it sounds weird but i was really drunk and i was like "Naah man" and its not like he physically pushed me out the door and put me in the car but it was just he knew the right way to be to get you to just go along and not say anything. When we got to the party we pulled up in the car and i was halfway passed out and he started taking my pants off and for a second i thought i was with a girl cause I'm sure i had taken some drugs that night and before i know it i was aware of this dude leaned over grabbing my cock about to give me a blowjob. Which like isn't the worst thing in the world and its not like i haven't experimented but i was hella fucked up and it was sleazy as fuck of him.

So i flipped the fuck out and kicked his windshield in and stormed off and my ex came and got me thats when she told me about him raping her. I hadn't really thought about it until now but I think i inadvertently facilitated him raping these girls.

I know I've talked about it in the past but i used to really be popular with females and I would always go to these parties and always have several ready to go. I guess I've always been able to talk to them and have them see me as someone it was safe to be adventurous with and be a little bit vulnerable. Now that I'm thinking about it clearly this dude used to go to parties with me and hang somewhere just out of sight while id talk to girls and wed have drinks. An hour or two later and the liquor flowing and id always walk back from getting a drink to him headed off to the nearest bathroom with one of the girls id be talking to.....Did this motherfucker use me to pick out targets to fucking rape? I think i need to look some people up on Facebook....

I saw norma jean two times with the chariot guy. They were meh. Then i saw them with the second vocalist, the guy from the memphis video, and it was one of the best live shows id seen from any of those types of bands. Then i saw them with the guy after the second vocalist and they were meh again.

Anyway, the second vocalist Cory is actually incredible, both O, God, The Aftermath and Redeemer are good albums, each with a few great songs, and (fucking shocker) I agree with you, they are better live with Cory. He's been with the band so much longer.

Fair enough but the good stuff was so good that I don't think their later stuff undoes it or anything.

Even Miss Machine was really good. Make a playlist with everything on Miss Machine except "Setting Fire To Sleeping Giants," "Phone Home," and "Unretrofied" and you've got yourself one hell of an album. "Panasonic Youth" and "Sunshine The Werewolf" are great songs.
