Shifting pitches
OK, so I have this bass Whammy and its super cool, but so huge! And I don't use the whammying on it, just setting it to a harmony and going to town on some riffage. Even then, it glitches out every once in a while, even on chords mode. Not a big deal with fuzz, but still enough that I notice.
So I've been thinking about maybe swapping it out for something else. But it looks like my options are kinda limited, at least in my price range. The Pitchfork is the one catching my attention the most. Small, cheap, and loads of intervals. Plus up, down, and both!
Has anyone used both?
Any other favorites that aren't like 300 bucks? I also considered a POG of some sort, but I really like having a 5th up option. But not enough to drop $400 on a HOG or a Pitch factor.

Re: Shifting pitches
I haven't tried other stuff on the market, but I really love the Pitchfork on bass.
Like, really really.
I have three of them.

I'm more like a mids-ist than a bassist.

Holy shit! That's an endorsement. Well, if you realize you only need 2, hit me up!jrmy wrote:I haven't tried other stuff on the market, but I really love the Pitchfork on bass.

I would like this more if the pitch controls were on a 12 way rotary instead of pots. I feel like it would be too hard to dial in exactly what I want.Uncle Grandfather wrote:EQD Pitch Bay

Been playing with the PS-2 lately, and it's fucking yummy. It has character, which I like. The one on the BitQuest is good too, but more sterile.

PitchFactor killed every other pitch pedal to me. Forever. Whammy? Big Box Pog? PS-2/5? Fuck 'em. PF4LYF

i had a whammy and was never using the treadle pedal so i stuck with a Boss PS-6 instead. IMO that one is awesome, tracks well, nice and clean, set the S-bend so the attack is instant and decay is long and you're in business.

It's my favorite pedal ever as well, let's make a club or something.ThurberMingus wrote:PitchFactor killed every other pitch pedal to me. Forever. Whammy? Big Box Pog? PS-2/5? Fuck 'em. PF4LYF
However, the plain octave/whammy cheesy stuff just sucks hard with chords, even the manual specifies in some points that some of the modes work best in monophonic. Which I don't really care since I never used those modes and I didn't get those algorithms in the H9. I'm all about the crazy delay glitch shit.

Re: Shifting pitches
yeah, a rotary would be neat but I like being able to dial in whatever sounds best which can be inbetween. It tracks great with chords etc. too and it's dirt is actually pretty nice. Being able to dial in or out the root makes things interesting too.neonblack wrote:

Re: Shifting pitches
I've got a PS-5 that I have similar positive feelings about. About as much harmonizer as you can get without menus and such, easy to learn and understand all of the functions. I've since picked up two rack harmonizers, and they do many more things and a few things better, but they don't make it useless by any stretch.backwardsvoyager wrote:i had a whammy and was never using the treadle pedal so i stuck with a Boss PS-6 instead. Re: Shifting pitches
Actually, and I know I saw it mentioned somewheres today, the Ibanez HD-1500 isn't a bad idea. They can be had cheap and have lots of options. Don't know why I sold mine.
Put it under your pedal board as a riser. But Boss PS's are awesome too.

Re: Shifting pitches
Maybe that digitech harmony man? It seems a bit under the radar, and I see them go cheap quite often around here. Maybe it just sucks, I wouldn't know.
