Funny, mine came yesterday. It has a tiny bit of dirt on the knobs/switches but it is super awesome! Had to wait over a month for it...will get pictures later.
Nice find though, it is pretty.

For like 5 minutes. But in that 5 minutes it put my Maxon/Ibanez prototype to shame (it's actually an evans with the slide head for time). I got it for a really good price from Japan..it only had one owner. Looks awesome next ot my D-50...but geez, your's is pristine.
culture jam just picked up Strange Tail's too. UG, backwardsvoyager have em too.

Yeah i had to pay the higher end of their resale value for the condition... but hell... it had to match the great condition of my Binson

And me. I've been meaning to start a care and feeding thread, given some of the issues discussed lately. I've been overly fearful of killing my motor, so under using mine. I played it almost constantly when I got it in 93. Fuck, I'm old.

Awesome! Do it!
Whenever I get around to it, I have a Multivox MX-312 that needs some work sitting around I'd like to rehab (I know it isn't the same thing, but I'll add some information on that in there too). Can't believe I have four tape machines now .
The Univox EC100 is still giving me trouble. Got a new tape and everything... . Yea, oh well, sorry aen.

I left my 301s on for the entirety of the 90s. They were only off if on a tour bus/van or being unloaded or serviced. I *never* replaced a motor on one.
Just kept it clean, made sure the tape was running, and went to town.
The thing that kills them is when the capstan seizes and the motor has nowhere to go but burn itself out.
I'm more judicious with my current 150, but don't baby the things.
Roland made them to survive the apocalypse.
