I have to say, Excane's description of the Cog Effects TK426 is giving the Blower Box a run for it's money in the Rat dept.
I'm more like a mids-ist than a bassist.

You're preferring it to the 88, dude?lordgalvar wrote:Lastgasp 46 or some kind of auto wah. Probably just the lastgasp 46 though.

On bass, yea. I really, really like it though. But I love Super Fuzzes, so yea.Eivind August wrote:You're preferring it to the 88, dude?lordgalvar wrote:Lastgasp 46 or some kind of auto wah. Probably just the lastgasp 46 though.
When I got my wife the bass, she basically took the 46 from me. She just loved the sound that much.
Of all my pedals, the ring mods and 46 get the most use.

On the non-dirt side, having any resonant filter (or even bitcrush or ringmod) can offer a variety of cocked-wah sorts of sounds. I like the Fairfield Four Eyes a LOT.
Reverb will make you big. Reverb into dirt will make you huge. Something with a pre-delay will help maintain clarity.
OR BITQUEST.

The EQD Monarch can do exactly the bass OD-fuzz sound you're using on the bandcamp album. Could set it more fuzzy, and roll off your volume for the sound you're getting too. It's my go to bass effect, more so than fuzz or distortion. Probably stack well with another high headroom pedal like yours.
Stop making me WANT STUFF. Is the Supercollider > Pharaoh or RH muff? I'm pretty happy with the BAT muff, and the Thundercloud has enough mids that I don't need a control... How is the Ritual better than a Meathead Dark, esp on bass?BoatRich wrote:ThisD.o.S. wrote:Supercollider if you want a Muff circuit.

I'm convinced the supercollider is the single best heavy muff. I've tried the Pharaoh, Lstr, Badascan, a couple of SUF, Fuzzrocious, EHX, and I have a custom Big Game Pedals one but I never use anything else for heavy stuff.grindonomicon wrote:The EQD Monarch can do exactly the bass OD-fuzz sound you're using on the bandcamp album. As far as meatheads go, I have a 9 of Swords Tyrant which is rad and super cheap, but the BAT that I heard sounds badass.

Of the dirts on my board and countless others I have tried and flipped the one that brings the metal the hardest is the Volt Thrower especially if you are doing some thrash because it doubles as a killer OD or distortion.

Always wanted to try the Supercollider, or a Walkure looked like a similar take. Have to make that happen now. Well, not NOW now, but sometime... But there is one in BST.BoatRich wrote:I'm convinced the supercollider is the single best heavy muff. The one knob fuzzes (ritual meathead etc.) are all basically the same thing, I just recommended the Ritual since I know it and use it.
One of the things that makes the Supercollider such a rad circuit is that it's based on an NYC Muff, IIRC, which doesn't get nearly as much love as some of the more classic circuits, which means that tonally it's in a fairly different ballpark than a lot of the other HEAVIER THAN A REALLY HEAVY THING style muffs.
I know Dark Barn is selling his right now, which came from Conky and didn't stay very long.
edit: and there he is posting.
