I've never had any issues with it. Mine stays in tune just fine. I got lucky though, I bought mine from the owner of the guitar store around here and he had lovingly set it up himself.

Pretty sure someone makes a hardtail conversion for the Bass VI. You can find it somewhere in the Bass VI thread. You could always take the trem arm off

Yeah, the Squier. Get a set of Circle K .102 or .106 strings and flip that bridge around and it should intonate and stay in tune pretty well. Then prepare yourself for a world of tones.
And if you ever decide you want a baritone, just get lighter strings and you've got one.

The Antigua would probably look okay with a black Pickguard but I don't know where you'd find the right one.
