NPD: Witch Burner and HM-2

Post by larsbars »

Just jammed for an hour with these two new pedals! The Witch Burner is definitely going to be a permanent addition to the board as a lead boost, fixes all my issues with a stock TS and sounds GREAT. Also managed to pick up an HM-2 on the cheap, my first experience with one. LED's kinda going in & out but it sounds gnarly as hell! Surprisingly usable too. Gotta try these out through the bass rig tomorrow!

The Witch Burner has more of a specific sound with its own character. In general, it's thicker sounding and more saturated than The Black Forest. More sustain too.

The Black Forest is more neutral sounding and much more versatile. More control over tone. Also stacks better with a wider variety of other dirt pedals.

That blue Witchburner looks ill. Way better than the green.

Saw that BLK/TRI pickups had the custom color in, and I'd been looking for a lead boost so I jumped on it! I agree that blue looks better than the green, plus now it kinda matches my organizer.

If you're on an isolated supply, which it sounds like, you need 12V for the HM2. That's why the LED problem. It steps the 12V down to 9V inside the pedal. Using a battery inside will fix it too, and it will sound even more HM2. :thumb:
