Warped Vinyl vs Gravitas

Post by Adelbatross »

Tossing up between these two. Due to their price I can't really afford both, so it's gotta come down to one or the other. It's been tricky finding the Warped Vinyl lately, seems to be sold out and on back order everywhere. Loving the Gravitas as well, which seems like it would cover a whole lot of territory, I can get one here locally and it gets rave reviews, maybe not AS good as the Warped Vinyl.

Anyone try both? I've been seeing the Gravitas popping up now a lot more now that it's been out a while.

I also blame ILF for the crazy amounts of GAS I have at the moment.

I have both. Well, I have mk1 of the warped vinyl and the wombtone, and the newest (only version) of the gravitas.

I personally love my warped vinyl a hell of a lot more than the gravitas. But that's because I mainly use the gravitas as a subtle effect. I am sure that there are plenty of other people that can use it to a hell of a lot more good than i do though.

For me, the warped vinyl just has so much more warmth and smoothness that it brings to the table. A little too much in the mk1, which Joel fixed in the mk2 with the tone knob. But that can always be fixed with eq later.

They both are killer pedals at their individual goals (and beyond). So it really comes down to what kind of effect you want to invest more in.
