ring Mods under $200

Post by The_Active_Conundrum »

Go.

I've got a Ring Worm and FM-4. When I start buying pedals again, its going to be dirt and mod. Starting with Hella Rings.
Great dealings with: ryan summit, UncleGrandfather, Pizza, hbombgraphics, dangergirlstarship, Clockworker, kosta

Copilot (3 different ones, I think), EHX Frequency Analyzer, Moog minifooger Ring Mod, Carlin Ring Mod, Ring Mod on a multifx, Tons of passive ones from dudes out there (some at like 60), Gonkulator, Jen HF Modulator (kinda, and they can be found for cheap), Used LAL Sick Pitch King Jr., Subdecay Ver...however it is spelled.

All I used for a long time was a bigmuff and an EHX freqanalyzer

But I got no luck. Which is why I have to throw money at it.

I would go for the minifooger, or the moogerfooger if one comes up under 200 (it does happen). Just for the options. I think the 40v Freq Analyzer sounds good though too. I really like the old Sick Pitch King and if you are really lucky, maybe (no blend on it).

Just be on the look out for a moogerfooger one. I see them for 190 all the time (I haven't looked in a while).

Never tried it... but the SubDecay Vitruvian Mod is under 200$.
And SubDecay is ILF approved. :thumb:

Dr Scientist BitQuest.
Secondhand they're in budget range...but also worth saving up for a new one.
You will not be disappoint with any of the other functions.

I only own the EHX Ring Thing, but it's pretty featured packed and you can find them used for around $130, give or take. Or, if Scott has any left, you can get a Montreal Assembly CA Ring Mod. It's very square waved and fuzzy and noisy, but its seriously one of my most favorite pedals I own.

The Virtruvian is on my "to-get" list, after the Count to Five, the MASF Raptio, and more money.

No, there's no amp in there - tone fairies and feedback goblins live inside this box.

If you've never owned a Freq. Analyzer, you are missing out.

It's not batshit insane, but if you want retro 70s Devo-type stuff, it is the way to go there and it's got one of the most musical ringmods out of the box of anything.

And I am a certified EHX disbeliever but I have one (I used to have three)

Does diy stuff count? I mean, you could build it for under $200. ;)

Check out Freppo's King Corruptor CMOS ringmod. Off the hook, even without the sequencer.
