They're ok. They sound more like the older Oranges than the current Oranges that I have played but you have to keep in mind that even the Oranges from the original run 60-whatever to 70-whatever are fairly different end to end, too.
good deals are here.

Is it true that the OTR is just an OR120 that Adrian retweaked to Noel Gallagher's specs? I remember reading that somewhere.

I've heard that before, Nick probably knows. I've never seen/played an OTR so I can't say either way.

The OTR seems brighter to my ears, and has a dirtier tone. But it's a great amp, easily comparable to the old glorious OR120.
You're not a musician, you're a low frequencies generator!

Now that I think about it, the amp in question that I was going to trade my Model T for was an OTR. Either way I would have been stoked to have it.

Ah, it was, of all places, right on the Wikipedia page for Orange:
With the brand back under Cooper's control, guitarist and valve amplifier expert, Adrian Emsley was brought in as technical director with the brief to update and refresh the product range.

Guitarist Noel Gallagher had used Orange almost exclusively on the early Oasis albums and as in the early days of Orange, Cooper was keen to get opinions from leading guitarists so Cooper and Emsley approached Gallagher to talk through any requirements that would improve his sound. Gallagher was using an Orange Overdrive which he required more crunch from. As a result changes were made to the Overdrive circuit, including modifications to the phase inverter and preamp. A standby switch replaced the output socket on the rear. The modifications suggested by Gallagher formed the basis of the OTR amplifier (Oscillatory Transition Return).
Bolding mine.

So it's not an OR120 tweaked, it's an Overdrive Series/OD120 tweaked.
