Going to buy a new guitar....But which?
I'm planning to buy a new guitar and I'm thrilled to buy a new one.
But I can't decide between these three guitars.
1. Gibson Les Paul Deluxe
2. Gretsch Power Jet
3. Fender Johnny Marr jaguar
Is there anyone play any of those three guitar? pros and cons?
(I'm playing pop music, alternative rock and punk. Not a heavy metal guy.)

I haven't played any of them but I've heard a lot of good things about Johnny Marr Jag.
The 3 you listed are all pretty different from each other. Any chance to play them first?

Re: Going to buy a new guitar....But which?
Please forgive my jumping into your post like this. I don't mean to derail your thread or spam you etc.
I have a guitar that might really fit what you are wanting given the genres you listed.
I did just post this in the buy/sell/ trade section as well but this guitar would be a $1,700 guitar and because I buffed through and touched up a couple tiny spots I am accepting reasonable offers.
I'll post pics, a link to specs on my site, and a link to demos.
Again I'm not trying to spam you and wouldn't normally stick my pretty little nose into anyone's business but this could be a strong contender for you and it's handmade by me!

Man do not get the Gibson.
As long as people are going to buy new Gibsons, they will never recognize they're actually running the company to the fucking ground with their stupid innovations and over-production. Not to mention all Gibson guitars I've played lately were not really on par QC-wise
If you want an alternative, get a Godin. Great craftsmanship for much smaller price, Canadian-made. And they do make Les Paul-ish guitars as well.
I'd honestly look into the Marr, haven't heard a bad thing about it. Had also some run-ins with bad quality control with a Gretsch, a White Falcon.

Of those, I'd choose the Jag.

Nelson is dope, but I will always push people to buy Jags. Always. But get that Nelson, handmade swag.

What guitar(s) do you have now? Choosing from the guitar listed, I would think that's a big deal.
But, I have a (parts) JM jag and it is awesome. I've played a few actual Fender JM jags and they are also great. I personally don't like that the pickups aren't RWRP, but you can always swap them out. I have lollars in mine- they're great.

Re: Going to buy a new guitar....But which?
Just the clarity out of the pickups, and the fact that it's not that much more noisy than a humbucker with that aluminium pick guard. Despite playing metal I try not to use too much distortion but even with a lot of distortion you still get the guitar's character and good string definition and punch. Even our (ex) drummer noticed it and he notices nothing that you can't hit.
sits well in a mix too.
It's really light weight so it's easy to gig with, throw around and mosh with, but it never feels dinky.
I can miss the power of my old humbuckers (though not with fuzz, just clean) and the finish gets dinged really easily, unfortunately, and the body shape is better suited to playing classical style (over the "wrong knee") when seated, but it's got to the point where it's difficult to play my other guitars just because I don't want to haha. Going to have to get my finances in order and pick up another.

Re: Going to buy a new guitar....But which?
Perhaps that doesn't explain it enough. I've always been happy with my tone, always used nice pickups and gear, always sounded pretty decent live and on tape, but the Socialite is exactly how I want a guitar to sound, I'd just never realised it. And the neck is fucking awesome. Makes playing a breeze, and despite having some heft to it it's not hard to shred on at all. That's the other aspect that has turned me off my other guitars! Wizard neck feels too flat and thin, old fender knock off feels cumbersome.
Neck, pickups/sound, perfect weight. Incomparable.
= game changer.
Easy to look at too...

Gotcha! Thanks for that!
(By the way, your guitar may ding easier because that was the last run of instruments that I used baswood on. Now I use soft maple or poplar which are a little harder.)
Okay sorry about that everyone! Hijack over!!!

Get the Nelson. You are looking at really different guitars anyway, go with the cool handmade one that less people have.

Re: Going to buy a new guitar....But which?
Stay away from the Gibson (like everyone else said). Go for the nelson or the Jag. But the Nelson is way nicer looking. The clips I have heard of goroths are nice (it helps that he is an awesome player too)! It would come down to scale for me. Gretch has some sketchy history too but I do like their looks.
I have a fender jag, a nice one too, but it is heavy (my Welson is like 1/2 the weight at least and it is a bigger guitar). There are some oversights in Fender quality control that is a little goofy (not so much on the setup but in the electronics, plus I find fender pickups kind of lacking).
That Nelson is pretty awesome looking!
