Favorite $100-$150 Reverb?

Post by ancientbones »

So I sold my hall of fame a little while ago and now I kind of want a reverb again. Not really interested in getting a hof again. It was alright.

Ideally I'd like something like this:

But I feel like I'd have to build it myself. I just don't have the time to start getting into pedal building at the moment.

I'm thinking of maybe finding a used Boss RV-5 or maybe a Noisemaker Effects Haunt?

BTW I had the same link problem like a month ago

for the youtube link, it has to be http instead of https (something to do with the secure socket layer I guess) so just remove the "s" and the link should work

You can find a Ghost Echo between $100-$150 all day every day. Solid, simple reverb.

Futuresailors is all bout dat cathedral. Seems like you'd dig the predelay/repeats controls if you're after something like what you posted (didn't watch the whole video, but I saw a section with repeats)

If you're looking for spring, the Subdecay Super Spring Theory is goddamn perfect as far as I'm concerned. It's $179, but keep an eye out for a used one if you're really trying to stay @150 or less.

I second the EQD ghost echo suggestion. You could also look out for the EQD Levitation.

Used RRRs can be found for $150 depending on the finish.

RRRs are insane Pre and Post or Mid Dirt... Pre on R1, Mid on P1 and Post on H2... :yay:

The RRR is great.

I also love the RV-2, I usually have a couple of them around.

I hated the Ghost Echo, noisy and dull.

Don't have a ton of reverb experience, but from what I've tried so far...I'd say any RV series Boss can hang with the best of 'em. The 3 in particular, cause of the delay and stereo outs. Another one I really liked for big washy hall/plate reverb: Hardwire RV-7. Well within budget too.

I'm using an EQD Afterneath for pseudo reverb sounds these days though. It's probably just me, but more conventional digital delay pedals tend to turn everything I play into cliché post rock, or p&w crap :idk:

Haven't really looked too hard into the RV-7. Have prices gone down on those since the Polara released? Big washy verb is what I'm into most. I really like modulated reverb. The HOF did that but it wasn't as nice as something like the RV-5's.

I feel you on the p&w stuff.

I have a delay already. Still rockin my DE-7. Also I'm not really looking for spring reverb. My amp has a pretty nice spring reverb sound going. Just looking for something more extreme.

Man, the RM-1N would be a dream if it were a little cheaper. If they made like a mini version with some stuff trimmed out I'd be all over that.

Boss RV-2 or RV-3. Both are stellar.
