Re: The return of Frantone
That was a pretty interesting video. I enjoy seeing how the process works. Also funny how the two pedals the guy at Bearfoot was test failed. Def. going to dive deeper into both brands though it seems that Bearfoot just does dirt pedals and isn't really pushing the envelope. My only criticism is that both brands produce some pretty unattractive pedals from a design aesthetic. I absolutely hate that brush script font. So overused, so lame.

Yeah, those Bearfoot pedals aren't gonna win any prizes at graphic design competitions.
That's a carryover from the BJFE design aesthetic.

the Vibutron is a simple, but GREAT sounding tremolo. i might grab one of the new ones if the prices aren't stupid.

Re: The return of Frantone
All of the Bearfoot stuff I've owned or played (owned 4, played about 12 through tour boxes on TGP) sounds great, does what it's supposed to...BUT, a lot of their drive pedals sound reaaaaallly similar. I mean some are literally six variations on the same pedal (the Bee series), but even some of the other ones there is a similar gain architecture I can hear, it makes me wonder. I might be crazy. But they are good pedals, no beef. Stoked to try some Frantone.
Good deals on ILF: too many to list, just ask!

= $$$$
So long as they bring back the Glacier, I don't really care.
EDIT: If this is anything to go by, they're pretty much only resuming dirt boxes. Fuckers.

Re: The return of Frantone
I sent Don Rusk at Bearfoot an email asking about when the Frantone line will launch and what the price will be for a Peachfuzz. He replied they are shooting to launch on Labor Day and the price will be $299Chankgeez wrote:Now you can get that Peachfuzz you've always wanted.
I think I will be looking for a used reissue come fall.
Didn't get the price on any other models.

Re: The return of Frantone
I can imagine non-dirt pedals (if they build any) may cost more though.

Re: The return of Frantone
Ah well. $250 has been my invisible line in the sand on Peachfuzz, don't know why but it has. At $299 I could definitely catch one in my range on sale. So we'll see. I think I'm gonna shoot some lowball offers on vintage ones until Labor Day and see what comes first.

Re: The return of Frantone
It could be the price they have to say due to deals with retailers? Like they say 299 but the actual selling price is 250 due to MSRP or whatever? It's something to hope for maybe?

Re: The return of Frantone
I always liked Fran and her desgins. but never playd a pedal and I don't know exaclty how good or unique the stuff is. Always seem to be a bit expensive.
Bearfoot builds nice stuff but I don't know to be honest.

Re: The return of Frantone
so the v9 is the currently availible one? Hmmm. Might be worth it?HorseyBoy wrote:^ She also worked as an engineer at EHX from 1999 to 2000 and came up with the NYC Big Muff (the v9): http://www.kitrae.net/music/big_muff_history3.html
You'll hear these referred to as "Frantone" Muffs.
