I learned to drive stick on a Super Beetle.
We used to take my friend's dad's Boss out and drive the crap out of it on the farm roads. It was my favorite Mustang, but my wife likes the 66. I ain't much of a Ford guy (always GM), but if I were to get one it'd be a falcon futura sleeper. In white or matte black. Put a 350 in it and a two speed powerglide with something weird like twin turbos or something. Anyway, I took my wife around in a 1966 Mustang (stock, one owner) this weekend. She loves those cars, but the dude selling it was a scammer/creeper/looked too much like Darryl Hall. I wish my mom would have kept her 1966; she sold it for like 1000 in 1993 or something. My dad didn't like Fords haha. Or Mopar (though I remember him liking some Cudas because they were "so ugly that they were cool"). He always wanted a willys.

Nothing wrong with the Punch Buggy though. I had a 71 Super Bug and I gave it a hard time for over 10 years with no big dramas. They thrive on neglect. Would even take it off roading. There was no where it couldn't go. Fuck I miss that thing.
I actually miss my 1971 Super Beetle too. Thing was a constant problem though. It kept blowing coils and we got it from a friend (that won it in a church raffle) and it had a crack in the block. Got a recycled block, which was also bad (these were notorious for being bad at the time of course I didnn't know that) but we got lucky and a short happened in the steering column because the tow truck driver left it in first and it caught it on fire. Boom, awesome engine and it ran like a dream until the synchros went bad on the transmission...my dad talked me into getting rid of it because he was sick of it. It was a blast to drive though. Loved it (other than the problems). The church that "restored" it for that raffle didn't know what they were doing I guess.
My dad has an Austin Healy Sprite mk II he is building to be a weird little sports car with a rear end based off a sprint car and a datsun 6 cylinder (I think he got the car for 700 in parts from the desert and the engine was given to him). haha. He also has a Morris Minor that he is going to get a crate engine for and make into his bracket racer. He just picked up an awesome 1950s jeep suv thing. He wants me to buy that haha. We built up a 1966 El Camino, a 1971 Malibu, a 1956 Ford pickup but always sold them before they got done because my dad would move on to something more his dream. He used to bracket race a Chevy II station wagon with a ford 9" rear end in it. haha, my wife wont let me keep up that tradition, so I got into guitars and effects again haha. I was trying to talk her into letting me build a supercharged motoguzzi or norton commando or atlas or something. Just want to make weird things that shouldn't exist. Didn't go over too well, haha.
GTO has always been my car though.
I'll see what I can do about a demo if you don't mind terrible playing. Ask UG, he will confirm that I am terrible...haha.
Cars, guitars, and pedals, ILF is awesome.
