I dunno, just found this after some searching...could be what we are looking for: http://hammer.ampage.org/?cmd=lt&xid=&fid=&ex=&pg=12 Scroll down to the post/pdf for DEVICE issue 1.
It's a anderton schem that has peak detector out, a preamp out, a compression out, two trig outs (I assume at different freqs, haven't read it all yet), and an env out. You coul probably run a ton with this and use some kind of switch to bypass the thing while keeping the env running (a preamp is always good to have around).

Re: Envelope cv generator
This may sound really, really dumb, but here's an idea. Get a photoeye, ldr, or something like they use on the DE TBD and put it into a dark tube or straw. Wire the other end with a cord/jack and tape it onto a fuzz pedal with a LED that clips/flashes at peaks on the outside of the case (or inside, whatever...all three my moogs, well two now, have that cliping input gain led...fuzzhugger phantom octave did too). Wouldn't that give you some dynamics over cv? Or just make a preamp with LED clipping and use a makeshift vactrol (same difference I guess, just making something dedicated). You could run it in stereo without it's output going anywhere and have the cv out or run it inline for a boost/od/fuzz?
Dang it, now I gotta order more parts...thanks dandolin...haha

Re: Envelope cv generator
I did something vaguely similar to this once, but for a different result. Used a vactrols LED for clipping in a dirt circuit, and used the LDR side to trigger/alter a feedback loop within itself. Was pretty crazy until it brokelordgalvar wrote:This may sound really, really dumb, but here's an idea. Awesome! A ton of stuff for me to try out there. I gots some stuff to figure out, but glad to know that I am thinking along the correct lines.Jero wrote: I did something vaguely similar to this once, but for a different result. Re: Envelope cv generator
Eh, so the env out on the mf107 just sucks. I just pulled out the volca beats and it triggered my cv controlled relay just fine (that thing was clickin' on beat and I was so happy)...now to make it control the dfx94 switch....(all it did was cut the volume and make weird space sounds that were really quiet, oh well can still make the thing a bypass box)
Hopefully it works with the broadcast so I can have an cv controlled true bypass box. So happy (little victories, even though it is the dumbest simplest circuit ever...i shoulda just got out the volca beats to begin with haha)! Sounds of relays clickin' is pretty darn awesome actually...like something out of an old sci-fi movie, especially with the tape machine running. If anybody wants any info, I will continue the discussion on this thing in DIY or PM me...Don't wanna get too off topic.
Anyway...I think we could build an envelope cv pedal with vactrols...but I think I like what Jero did just as much, haha.

See I love rigging like this just for the pure McGyverarity of it, so I would love to see this work out. Might need one of those visible-from-the-surface-of-the-moon leds, though, to traverse the tube. Then fill the tube with a foam/mesh that changes density/light-permeability radically depending on fluctuations in temperature and link a talk box tube to the other end to modulate the light envelope with your breathe. Congrats on Broadcast btw-seemes pvre awesomme.
I want a Broadcast Supreme with an added cv mixer so I can either control multiple parameters of a Moogerfooger/Koma Elektronik/Dreadbox type device with separate lfos OR mix multiple lfos down to one complex'n'weird lfo to jack the cv in of a device straight into weirdspace. I think this may have convinced Adam I am cray cray though....

I ordered some photoeye/LDRs last night...they should be here tomorrow...gotta love some Amazon sometimes. Be tryin' it tomorrow as soon as they get here.Dandolin wrote:See I love rigging like this just for the pure McGyverarity of it, so I would love to see this work out. If you have a vactrol based univibe or mutron kinda thing, there are lights in there too. If you can bypass the filter section or setup like a mini signal split inside of a env pedal, you can run a very short stereo kinda signal with an output for an extra photoeye, you should be able to have the thing not affect your signal but control another pedal (I think I have figured out how to do this on a mu-tron iii, which is a way simpler circuit than I thought). Anyway, good stuff. Then you could switch back and have the mu-tron or whatever pedal too. To make it more versitile, and not make your other pedal a brick while the env follower is bypassed, it may be best to put the whole thing in a wah enclosure with three routing switches (A: bypass | B: bypass filter, env cv control | C: foot treadle control via cv).
I've also found some other schems, but they, I think, are mostly for the modular world and I don't know how well they'd work.
