CJ knows Bazz

Figured it out! Stupid, stupid mistake on my part. Now it's working. Not as much difference in compression as I would like, so I might go back and change one of the diode types.
Hooray for DIY!

Couldn't resist fucking with this thing. Swapped out a diode. Now it's a MONSTER. I can't believe how this simple little nothing of a circuit sounds so damn good. I swear to gawd you could go back in time and track Siamese Dream with this thing and it would sound almost the same.

See below.
I used a diffused LED for D2 (forward voltage of about 1.8V) and a funky glass silicon diode for D1 (Vf of about 0.35V).

Of course, but from CJ's description, I assumed he'd made some significant tweaks - I've played about with the bazz on many occasions, but was never blown away by the sound (though an anti parallel pair of LEDs is pretty dirty and loud).

Re: Let's see your finished DIY projects!
I finished this last weekend, I bought the enclosure with the intention of fitting the insides of my Langtronics Bone Collector, as the layout of its connectors are a bit weird, but when I opened it up I discovered that the board was glued in, so in the end I bought a fuzz kit from a UK supplier and put that in instead.

Mine is a brother HL-20. I scored on CL and bought it with an existing toner cartridge and two replacements all for $60
