And I can tell you they are pretty awesome quality too. My telebass vi had the telecaster heeled version on it. He will do custom stuff too, like reverse headstock and no fret dots

I didn't really either. Until I discovered Big Star. That guy makes 2nd position sound incredible.

I think Strats are the perfect guitar and everyone should have one. Doesn't have to be classic specs. I've go a beat to hell sea foam greenish frankenstrat made from Japanese and American parts with a red silver blue lace sensor set as my main axe. Tuned to C#. It RIPS.

Could also be an etsy shop where you sell nitted cases for them.

Been playing my strat more than any other guitar recently.

The 2/4 position on the pickup selector (traditionally) engages the bridge or neck with the middle, which allows for the cancellation of noise (like a humbucker!) which is perfect if you're trying to keep things pristine clean. I only use the 2/4 positions.

Everything about a strat just sounds "correct," to my mind. It has this compression that I haven't been able to find with any other guitar. Every note, no matter where it is, responds exactly how I want it to when I hit the string. Its consistent and comfortable. I was also one of those nerds in middle/high school who only played strats, so maybe its just the comfort of a pair of old shoes.

I love the Strat. Been playing one since 14. Korean import version first, which was surprisingly good in the 90's. Strat into a bassman SF 100 and 4x12 was my first real rig with dirt coming from an MT-2. I had to recreate that rig because it was so seminal in my youth.

Later I got a USA with lace pickups that I love and was my main ax for years. Played that through a Prosonic and some others.

The 2 position is the 'glass' sounding position. The 4 is the quack position. My favorite is usually single coil neck sounds, so I go after #1. The bridge sounds usually treble-y and junky if you want it to, or it can roar.

I love my Strat, but it took years of shitty ones to learn the value of a quality Strat. I prefer the Deluxe tremolo with the push in tremolo bar, instead of the screw in kind. Rosewood board. A 2000's American Series works fine for me.

American Strat was my first real guitar (after a super-shitty acoustic that I learned my chops on). I bought it new in 1992 and I still have it. The electronics have been replaced (twice), and I put locking tuners on it. Blocked the trem so it's effectively a hardtail.

The last piece of the puzzle is getting another Area 58 for the bridge. The Area series pickups are just amazing. Sound like single coils, but no hum. And they *look* like single coils.
