Yeah dude I think I listened to Silver pretty much on constant repeat when I first got into Jesu.

Much yesness I am having to agreement with the statement this thread is extrapolating upon.

They are a total 'mood' band, though. I haven't really sat down and listened to them in a year or so, probably.

I listened to Jesu's entire discography just yesterday. In order. It was belting it down with rain outside, and I was laying in bed just feeling like shit, so it was an apt soundtrack. Took a full day pretty much. It was superb.

Jesu seems to spark a lot of debate about which records are good, which are bad, and which was the last good record he did before it turned to shit. I don't get it. There's not a single release I don't like. Opiate Sun seems to get a lot of thumbs down, which I find odd. I think it might be one of my favourites. I love how it sounds like a doom Swervedriver. I like the temporary ditching of the electronics and effects, and he just sticks a mic infront of amps and drums and makes a rock record. His best vocal performance to date as well. Those melodies are beautiful. A massively under-appreciated record, IMO.

One of the dullest live bands I've ever seen though. Seen him/them twice, and both times, it didn't really translate to a live setting. It just didn't sound good. Weak tones, the electronics and samples didn't blend well. Nothing visual going on. He should just go full Sunn O))) and just play his songs as obnoxiously loud as possible. Stack up more amplifiers than is even remotely necessary, and fill the place up with fog and/or some wintery visuals.
