If your career was selling knobs and boxes, would you not sell them to someone because they screwed someone else over?

There's no toy in an ebow.

I tried once with a partner willing to see if there was a secret magnet in her nether regions.

We laughed, went back to what did in fact work, never tried it again.

But I'd imagine that type of experimentation is no different than "let's try X" with damned near any used item you might consider!

Devis real skill, as others have pointed out, is social media and creating cheap fuzzes that appeal to 4chan-ing, manga-reading, video game nerd outsiders. Which is cool, the pedals sound good, and are priced at a realistic level. Innovative? I don't know much about design, so no comment. She nailed some of the noisier/weirder sounds, but usually I've found other pedals that nail them better. Point being, I've always thought of DE pedals to be driven more by image than by the actual builds, and I think that's partly why people still support her. She was that rad chick who «rocked the establishment». Not saying her pedals aren't good; it would probably be hard to make such simple designs without them sounding good. But yeah. There's a point in here somewhere, but I'm too tired to look for it.

Vibrator on guitar is an idea, though.

NEW WORLD RECORD!!!

Read the cached thread. The fact that it got shut down before anybody replied speaks volumes.
That is the funniest/most sad thing, though.

I will hand it to Tom and the mods for not moderating this place like that.

There was one reply actually: "Good riddance"

Oh well, they unbanned me:
Your first post was against most every rule we have on civil behavior. References to animal porn and such in the title cannot and will not ever be acceptable. We are not about negative or positive but not linking to vindictive and vendetta laden stuff on other forums (dragging other forum drama onto TGP). I'll lift the ban but please review the rules.
Wut? Animal porn? :idk: :animal:

I think ILF has made it impossible for me to be a member of any other forum. Good riddance.

Wish that was true in a couple cases for me.

The Test Pattern is the ugly child I never knew I wanted or needed, and nothing else quite does what it does.

I'd love to strip my board of dramas.

That is certainly something I should have suggested. Ah, well...I was young then.

Don't think it would unfortunately - not enough power in the ebow to drive something solid, only getting existing resonant ugly or stuff that tends to it abuzz.

Well right. I know that she is lying about a lot of things, in public and about us. But I don't think there is all that much to gain by arguing with her. She is too good at lying and manipulation. I just simply don't have the skills to go toe to toe with that in public. We have ethics on our side, but that won't mean shit to customers who like the drama and the cheap fuzz. There are too many people who will buy into her shit to make it worth fighting her. She can take that as my weakness or her superiority to us, or whatever. I don't care.

She is now chatting with Lawrence from Ohnoho and working with the dudes from Bearfoot on designs, so obviously some people still think she is worth working with.

As far as the console thing goes, she is telling people she has paid off half of the investors. As far as the records she shared with us, that isn't true, but how the fuck do we prove that? Lots of people were sympathetic and said she didn't owe them anything because people were persecuting her online. Lots have asked us for pedal refunds. At least now I can send them her way instead of holding back information to protect her.

I dunno. I am over it.
I completely understand and wasn't advocating you do anything but what you are...carrying on with actual honesty and integrity.

I was just want to point out the alternative that she might not be banking on reactions sinking to her level. She might actually be playing to exactly the opposite. That is to say, exploiting the asymmetry of rules -- you aren't going to lie and sink to those sorts of tactics, while she is free to do just that without moral compunction.

I will say it's really frustrating to see good, honest people get abused. But what I find worse is that it's a repeated pattern. Her true skillset isn't music electronics nor software production; it's social media manipulation and in a better world I would hope that she would channel that into a marketing career (hopefully with some ethical oversight) instead of using it to repeatedly prey on the trust and good faith of honest people
Well… one idea to fight that kind of battle with actual honesty and integrity would be to stick on every pedal and merch thingy you put under the DE name like: Devi Ever Effects - now build by Dwarfcraft with actual honesty and integrity :thumb:

This is a sad state of affairs

"If they [Dwarfcraft] try to sue me, they are going to be in for a rude awakening because the contract we signed is pretty much shite."

So Devi Ever entered into a contract that was supposed to be equitable agreement between cooperating parties with the impression that the contract was "shite" and legally unenforceable (if it is or isn't in actual fact has yet to be determined)

While I certainly wouldn't look to Devi as a reliable source of legal analysis, her position does speak volumes about her character.

[dwardfract, I realize you don't wish to speak to these issues and I respect that. I do hope it is acceptable that I'm commenting on it. Her actions are morally reprehensible]
