I almost put off-white Fender cupcake knobs from a brown-face era Fender on my MIG when I had the pots switched out. Turns out they stood too far off the front panel. The Sovtek chickenhead looks WAY cooler than the Fender chickenhead but they don't fit on modern shafts so I had to go with Fender style on the MIG-50. I'll probably include the original knobs along with all the other parts I saved that came out of the MIG when I sell it.

Yeah, bigger is always better. If not for the bone-crushing power but for the glorious clean headroom. MIG-50s are stupid loud but if you need to boost the gain it just turns into a mess.

Yea I just figured they are nice and loud but not enough for my tastes, I actually don't utilize pedals and rely on the amp's natural distortion. maybe one day I'll use some outside of the swedish death metal HM2 worship I do sometimes.

That was my problem with the MIG100H I had, wasn't loud enough either.

Amp gain for life. Though my Hellhawk sounds fucking crushing with an HM-2 in front of it.

I actually like my Mig100H's for black metal. I can get a great frosty tone with a certain guitar. I'm actually tracking an album in the next month now that I have 2 of them. I also used one for an osdm ep, I liked it but yea i wished it was louder I paired it with an Peavey Windsor and I have to say the Windsor was kinda smoking it.

I've been enjoying my HM2 infront of my silver face concert lead at the moment.

and yea fallen I kinda agree with the chickenhead knobs to a degree but for some reason here I don't mind. he also included the original knobs in a bag if I want to switch them out. and there's always something classy about white esp if you get one on a main gigging head so it'll show all the wear of the road as you use it.

The original laney knobs are awful anyways, stick to the chicken heads!

Not yet, they are totally different creatures (Matamp is all amp gain and the Naki is completely clean) so stereo might not be the best route, plus I don't have an ABY pedal at the moment. I will try and get something going this weekend using the direct input on the Matamp as it defeats the pre gain circuit and basically turns it into a GT120 which would be a better pair for the Naki.
