Celestion G12H-100. Really wish a I still had a quad of those now that I have a Mother being built. Only my bass cab can handle that kind of power. But if we're on the topic of high power speakers for boutique stained wood cabs. Those 100s do everything a modern Celestion can't and more.

Celestions are ok for normal type guitar sounds but I for max lows? no. not even their bass speakers are very good at that, I have one of their newer 15's and it's ok on guitar but bass it flabs out, even with a 60 watt sunn and it's a supposedly 300watt speaker .
I never had problems tuned to C standard with a Model T or Sovtek MIG100H through a 4x12 loaded with those 100 watt Celestions. Lots of modern speaker ratings are overstated, wouldn't be surprised if that was the case with the newer 15.
Getting back to subject of Emperor cabs. I A/B'd my Model T and MIG100H that I had at the time through my cab with Celestion G12H-100s and a couple of stock Emperors with 65 watt Webers because I wanted one. The Emperors flubbed out and were muddy in comparison to the cab with Celestions with my guitar tuned to C standard. I think the cab they were in was an older 1960A cab.

I've been starting to feel this way about my jensen neo 15s (also 300w and used with a 60w sunn ) but dread the thought of buying new speakers, and not liking them.
Yeah I think it is true that Petras worked for Emperor and "stole" their design, but who cares?
Les Paul "stole" his design from Paul Bigsby. So did Leo Fender. Bigsby guitars had elements of both companies' most famous designs before either had been "invented." Alas, are you going to boycott Gibson? Probably not. "Good artists copy, great artists steal."
Atlas is the only company still making cabs that exactly nail the Emperor look. Emperor isn't anymore. So ultimately... I have a hard time getting pissed about it.
