Ears still ringing, lots of cool sounds, I need a few more cables for stereo. I am tempted to put some brackets in for the input/output jacks because they are a pain in the ass. During my move to this place, I lost part of my 1 spot so I couldn't get the foot pedals working, so that is on the list too. Now just comes time to deal with the small details, and start learning how to work with presets on rack gear.

I did replace the backlight on the korg a2, super easy with the right tools, and now I can read the screen!

If you get so inclined there are replacement high-contrast LCDs for the Qverb that aren't all that expensive. I'm considering swapping mine out to it very seriously so I don't have to squint.

It's as legible now as it was when it was built but the backlight on these types of things has RADICALLY improved tech-wise in the last 20-some years.

I've got a Midiverb 2 but don't really know how to use it in a chain or what I need to control it and always have felt too proud/insecure to ask. Sos!

Midiverb 2 is simple - it's a by modern standards very large pedal. Inputs sum to mono (output is actual stereo though). The 1/4" "defeat" input on the back is for an Echoplex-style generic on-off switch - something like http://www.musiciansfriend.com/amplifie ... footswitch. It's a simple kill on/off switch - no trails, nothing fancy.

MIDI you can find the implementation for program changes in the manual on the Alesis site (they still have their stuff, I give them credit for supporting a venerable device).

Don't overthink the thing, there's no real programability or edit. Input gain, output gain, mix, what program you want....boom.

R2DU is AWESOME, i finally got all the midi mouses (mice?) hooked up, WOW, instant wall of reverse gated noise.

the one thing i now have to figure out is how to turn each rack effect on and off, the mouse can switch presets but not bypass, any thoughts?
