Sorry to read that voyager.
I did some research a few months ago when I was really GASing for one and found that some people was having a similar issue.

About it being gimmicky/not something you would use often/one-trick pony: I think this depends on what you're going to do with it. I use a lot of glitchy stuff in my music, and the Raptio is probably one of the effects I use the most on my tracks. My music might very well be gimmicky because of that, but hey, it at least made a lot of sense for me to get the Possessed as well. Together they do a lot of stuff that I find myself using (relatively) often. Not an always on pedal by any stretch, but I don't have many/any of those to begin with. I think most pedals are one-trick ponys in a way - a delay "only" creates echos, a fuzz "only" gives you a... well, fuzzy tone etc. It all depends on what you need/want, and what you're going to use it for. I wouldn't buy the Possessed if it was something I was going to use for one part of one track, and only fuck around with now and again. But if this type of glitch is something you'd use often in your music/sweet ass jamz, then I say buy it and never look back. :snax:
My aim with it is to make mathy trip-hoppy glitch folk as a solo project to my desert rock main project, so I'm with you. :!!!:

Where do you guys put it on your chain? I'm thinking of getting two reverbs, a context and something like a Chrome supermoon, the context will probably be always on for ambience, but the Chrome will be will I want to get truly lost in waves of noise, So I'm thinking of doing Context->Possesed->CSM, or wouls another order be better? I'm stilll planning, so nothing is solid yet. :joy:

interesting, i do remember hearing stuff like that a while ago but wasn't sure if it was still an issue
i've been using it with line level for a while with zero problems, the time i noticed it had gone weirdly quiet was when a friend was running obscenely loud oscillating delay into it so i guess that's the problem
that's a fucking bummer, but at least i can still use it for the time being if i boost it afterwards, if it's a chip issue with the FV1 i'm assuming there's no way to fix it.

Does MASF even have customer support to speak of?

I am sure they do, but you might have to go through the distro. LEP International, nine volt or something. They do post on their facebook from time to time too.

Yeah i wasn't particularly gonna be bothered with that, I bought it in-store at Ishibashi in Shibuya and haven't registered the warranty card, i wouldn't expect a replacement. I just hope it doesn't get worse so i can at least keep using it for tabletop noise with something boosting it afterwards.

It doesn't need a very loud signal to work, and the volume control is compensation enough for me. I think it sounds better going into distortion anyway.

I've figured out how to produce loads of similar stutter effects, but nothing the exact same. If you have an exp or LFO-controllable delay, and set the min and max to two different speeds (around 80 ms/220ms), and set another effect, like a choppy trem or step filter, to a third offsetting speed, and run them (in either order) into a distortion, then you're in the ball park. If you have a way to switch speeds on the modulation as well, even better. Changing up the mods brings new dimensions to the effect, and if your delay is just scraping the edge of oscillation, you can get little feedback swells in there too.
