For a 10k Roland EV-5 is great (and smaller than a wah).
That's what I'm using with my Super Oscillo Fuzz 88.

i kinda remember the moog one having a weird thing when u go heel down and then lift your foot off. maybe it was just mine, but it would always creep back a lil bit when i lifted my foot off.
also, what is the best way to express myself, while using an expression pedal for expressioning?

The moog one has always worked fine for me, but I also kinda don't like using exp pedals in general. I would rather have something reliable and not stupid like my leg/foot control my pedal.

Re: What's the Best Expression Pedal for Expressioning?
I don't think the Roland EV-5 is 10k. I had 2 of them at once, one from the 90s and one from the 00s, and when using either in full toe-down position with the Misty Cave, the pitch doesn't go as high as the d-time knob in the fully CCW position.
M-Audio EX-P is 10k, and what I use for manually sweeping my Effectrode phaser. It also works great with the MC. Go figure, it's one of the cheapest on the market.
At the opposite end of the price spectrum I've had a Toneczar modded EB VP-Jr, which was great for slow sweeps, but "wah-ing" is ill-advised...I learned the hard way...and sold it after spending about an hour restringing the thing. Never again
I'm really intrigued by the little red AMT...but apprehensive about its sweep/response.

Re: What's the Best Expression Pedal for Expressioning?
I have a modded EB VP Jr. A dude from Talkbass modded it. He even added an up/down sweep direction switch, and a range knob. If you're the least bit electronic savvy it should be an easy mod. I am not though. But I think the EB VP JR just have the best format around.
I currently control three pedals through the Mission Engineering Expressionator. If you just wna to tswitch between there's stuff like this: http://www.loop-master.com/trsstereo-version-p-301.html

Re: What's the Best Expression Pedal for Expressioning?
The Roland is FOR SURE a 10k pot. I tried the Misty Cave with 3 expression pedals, one a Source Audio dual and it only worked well with the EV5. Maybe your's was messed up? The expression pedal I mean. In fact, I believe I have an email from Lastgasp here somewhere that he recommended it. If not, and I'm just making that up in my head (entirely possible! LOL!), you could always email him. He's very receptive.
The new Source Audio is a good solution if you're into waiting for God knows when it gets released.
The other option is getting a cheap wah and converting it. There's tons of diy info out there. You could even take a good volume pedal or an existing expression pedal.
The problem with expression pedals is basically passive or active. Like instruments. So many damn things are so particular.
I have 4 Toneczar pedals and not one of them will work with any expression pedal except the ones Toneczar fucking makes. haha. Go figure. But the world of effects is like that.

Oh hell, I haven't been in one since I was a street kid in like 2001. I remember walking in with my version of being all crusty (which ain't that crusty/more gloomy anarcho than anything...which is almost goth for those keeping score) and like 4 kids stared at me and asked me and my friends where we got out stuff. haha. "We made our stuff from the surplus and thrift shops." Bunch of hippies! All those damn stores sell band t's now, even target. They even come pre vintaged. haha. But it doesn't sound like it has changed much, it's just whatever is hot in pop culture (which, I guess them bronies are....I learned about them on Bob's Burgers). Hell, I worked at Banana Republic for a minute after the housing crash and they sold band shirts next to the freaking casual blazers and machine worn jeans. Nothing like rocking an AC/DC shirt, loafers, and chinos to casual friday.
I actually don't have that shirt anymore, I got it in a trade way-back-when: I cut the sleeves off and wore all the damn time when I was an apprentice/laborer plumbing track homes. I think somebody threw it away to save me some ridicule. I thought it was funny talking to corporate investors and inspectors with it on
I think Eivind's rap-and-stomp might be a better way to go about it...but I'd probably have to do heroic couplets in iambic pentameter to keep it epic and account for my lack of "flow".

Re: What's the Best Expression Pedal for Expressioning?
I think you are right actually. I remember looking into it and it is actually like 50k or 25k or something. I was answering one of those amazon questions to make myself feel better about wasting my time reading about pedals....rustywire wrote:I don't think the Roland EV-5 is 10k. I think Hirofumi recommends the EV-5 for his exp pedal inputs that require 10k because it is the closest, widely availiable one on the market (and he has been recommending it for years before all the new exp pedals were out). It is just way closer to what the pedal needs than the Moog one.
Damn my internet is terrible this morning.

Unrelated to this entire discussion, but penny loafers are my favorite pedal tapping shoes.lordgalvar wrote:Oh hell, I haven't been in one since I was a street kid in like 2001. penny loafers are mad comfy!
haha yea, i just walked by one in the mall last month. (hate the mall, except for the pretzels).
it was like mad bright in there. i remember when there used to be dim lighting in there. i dunno just seemed odd to me.
its all one big company selling these shits in different stores anyways. HT is prob owned by the same company as PACSUN, zumiez (omg worst employees), AE, abercrombie, hollister, BR, etc.
