It would be really easy to make a Trigger In to Ext Tap converter so you could use it with a lot more delays... hmmm...
Oh you beautiful genius-we need to talk! Triggered repeats on my In Limbo? I'll take two. :thumb: :!!!:
Actually, it does sound awesome.

Even just a tap tempo box that toggles between resets would be awesome. Like press this one for one auto repeat tempo and this one for another. Not pressing something, it resets to "x" or something like that?

Another thought (well, something I have always thought was cool) was a "sens" or threshold control like Lastgasp uses on something his pedals (tone axe, rattle crow, sandstorm, etc). Instead of controlling a pedal, it sends a CV signal out based on how the threshold is set (most likely a trigger but even just a preset CV signal) to change cv stuff with playing dynamic. Like hit soft, speed is fast on a tremolo with CV Speed in, and hit hard to make it go slower. Using that with the mix or feedback control on a delay could be neat, but triggering actual repeats would be awesome.

Yeah definitely there's a ton of stuff you could do with a envelope to CV kinda thing.

Back to this though it could all be done analog, or I was thinking you could add a simple micro to record an input and then just loop it and have some presets etc. I'll have a play after exams anyway.

Iirc at least one of the Arion digital delays had trigger in.

Dds1? Dds4?

Awesome man. Be awesome to see what you come up with.

Going to look into that.

Play on good sir, play on (after the appropriate deference to exams, of course). :yay:

Yaz, I remember something about Arion, and maybe Yamaha too? Thanks!

Doh...double post again. :picard:

But, while I'm here, Arion DDS-1 (the "Dentist") does seem purty cool:

And definitely looks like it has a trigger in. :joy: Also, as lordgalvar notes, DDS-4 with basically the same functionality.

Yamaha's DDS line (DDS-20, DDS-100) look nice, but don't seem to have the trigger in.

Newer possibilities discussed here ar3 ultimately more intriguing, but I could definitely see picking up a used Arion DDS if I find one cheap.

DDS-1 and DDS-4 look like almost the same thing. They do seem to have a trigger in and to work kinda like the Boss. They also went under the Sakura name.

Is there anything that can create random triggers? I had a DSD that I tried to use with a drum machine and it never worked the way I wanted. If I had a small device that would create randomly timed triggers, I'd love it.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/291461856898 I think you might be able to modify this Aria one and replace the toggle for hold or regular mode to be controlled via external (maybe momentary footswitch). Could be neat.

I used a feedbacking flanger and the peaks (at high volume) triggered it pretty spastically. I'd imagine a goat keeper v3 or random sequencer could do alright.

The only problem I had with the feedback loop method was I felt like it was cool for my house, but it was too much to take out all the time. I'm going to figure out a compact way to pull this off.

A mircophone with a squarewave/pulse tremolo could get pretty random in a band setting too.

Looks like the Yamaha ones do not have a trigger in. The boss RSD-10 does though.

I thought about this, but does the RTG also randomize rhythm to some extent? Or are you thinking that into some kind of pitch to voltage unit? I'm not really sophisticated enough to understand how that would work out? :idk:

lordgalvar-definitely checking the RSD-10 pretty closely. Recently scored a RPS-10 and that one is pure win. :)*

A sample and hold circuit could make some randomness maybe. Something like the Moog CP-251.

Also, you could use the Gate out on the Koma BD-101 and control the speed on that for some kind of randomness (if used with that IR controller).

Maybe a Kaos Pad?

Edit: another thought: maybe you could rehouse any of these digital delay/sampler pedals that don't have a trigger in and make new true bypass switch and a trigger in that controls a relay that switches the switch in record/play mode? If I find one cheap, I might try it out (like the yamaha or something).

Edit TOO: that new Korg sq-1 has a random mode

You're right. RTG wouldn't work. But would the 8-step? It's got expression out and a random direction mode... That would give you the option of various preprogrammed rhythms as well as random stuff. Maybe.

What kind of trigger do those newer digitech JamMan loopers use? Is it different from the usual CV trigger? If it is, couldn't you create constantly changing loop lengths using something like the 8-step or something?
