Crazy Blue Box glitch fun

Post by Sockgazer »

I was experimenting around with pedals today when I ran across this fun combination.

It's crazy. Basically I plugged a wah into the front end. Since a Wah is like a bandpass filter(or low pass with a resonant peak), the blue box will go nuts trying to guess the frequency your guitar is putting out when the fundamentals are stripped from the signal. Moving it down, the opposite happens, and it tracks all over your guitar without glitching(more or less). The only problem is that it seems to only really work for the attack, whereas wahs tend to still be useful in the sustained period.

When I roll back in some of the fuzz it gives it this squelchy bubble texture.

I'd definitely recommend trying it.

That is fookin' nuts, in the best possible way. Nicely done! :thumb:

I wonder how the blue box would deal with a ring mod or octave up ahead of it...

Please excuse my ignorance, but is the pedal you plugged your wah into an MXR Blue Box or is there some other 'blue box.' :idk:

Awesome sound clip btw! :thumb:

Stock MXR Blue Box. Probably one of the recent models. Picked it up second hand.

Also I have to try this with the cap mod, and a delay... could be crazy into a Memory Boy.

I've had lots of fun putting really angular trebly high gain fuzzes after the BB too.

What would happen if you put a 50ms delay, no feedback, in front of a Blue Box? :?:
