12ax7 tubes - does triode matching matter?
OK so I know technically the answer is 'no', but I'm wondering sonically, how much should the two triodes in the 12ax7 be from each other or does it not even matter?
so much gear...

The only place in an amp where I think matching triodes would make a real difference is in a long tail pair phase inverter.

Yup, what Brian M said.
In a Marshall style amp it's sometime preferred to NOT have a balanced tube in the phase-inverter position. YMMV.
As long as you don't have a tube with a really weak side you should probably be fine.
