Hey Flo - thanks for replying! Nah, it's totally cool to talk about your own warez, as long as it doesn't come off as spammy. We're a tolerant bunch - participate in the forum, engage in other topics, and it's all good! Plus, I don't think anyone has problems with builders chiming in on threads that someone else started. It's when people appear out of nowhere just to give the hard sell that folks get worked up around here.

The pedal sounds super-cool, by the way, and I love the look of the campaign. Can it be used to bi-amp, if a person is already using a two-amp rig?
I'm more like a mids-ist than a bassist.

Hey, thanks for the welcome! I am totally not into that spammy stuff. Good thing you support the positive image this community has for an outsider :)

To your question, yeah, you can actually use the two sends for bi-amping purposes. And probably still use the unaltered signal through the main out. You can also use it to merge and blend a stereo signal into a mono one. But who does that, right? Btw. the next run will most likely have an expression-in to control the blending.

Strange Tales, at the moment I am in the middle of planning the production, but it feels as if I should aim around 180€ (US$200). If everything runs smooth, they will be available end of june or july.

Cheers

Hey Flo,

thanks for chiming in! I totally should have gotten some intel from you before rushing forward with this thing! But maybe this way I've finally lured you in! :D

I'm pretty sure it would, but would it be possible to blend a non-filtered with a filtered signal and combine them for a mono output? That would be very useful in my setup!

(Also LP-HP PingPong Delay??!! YES, please!!)

I'm gonna appropriate your tactic of spreading misinformation to lure other builders here. :D :snax:

Thanks for the input Flo! I will certainly be keeping an eye on your sites for this if I can save up some money for when they drop! :thumb:

Blending a filtered signal with an un-altered is no problem. The output is always mono.

As for the Ping-Pong, that would be only possible with a bit of workaround. We talked this through on facebook already ;) For everyone else, this is a simple schematic of how the pedal works:
Bildschirmfoto 2015-05-19 um 16.37.38.png
— The filters are 3-way switches: LP - full signal - HP
— If you leave a channel open (ie. don't connect a pedal in a loop), the path is automatically bridged and carries the clean signal
— You can also choose to use only the Returns to merge/blend two signals into one
— Or use the Sends to split your signal into two (three with the output) and do the bi- or tri-amp trick ;)

Seriously, I have been waiting for a pedal like this since 2013. I need this in my life, perhaps even two.

ok, I want one just for the looks already. however two questions arise. first of all, since I'm a bit dense, how do you use this concretely. I mean in your live setup. e.g. do you know what Brian runs in each loop? or do you use one in Rodha, and if so how? (amazing stuff btw, I'm about to order the cd :thumb:). and secondly, will you post an update here or on your website once they're available (how many do you plan to build?), for the cavemen like me who are not on social networks?

On the board pic Flo posted in the other thread it looked like he had an Oh See Demon in one loop and a Rat Tail in the other. I really want one to put a low passed "bass" signal that's deep/synthy and a high passed "guitar" channel that's high gain OD for my bass vi rig

hehe, thanks man!

How do I use it? — the idea behind the whole project is to bring the studio concept of a parallel signal path (clean/wet) to the pedalboard. Most people having tracked in a studio know the setup of recording a track of just the clean bass sound (DI signal) to add punch to a distorted tone that often lacks low end. I actually don't have an Integrail on my personal board right now because I sold all units already. Also, because I can get a similar effect through a rather complicated wiring of my board and my two amps. But I am definitly going to have one on my board for many reasons…

The basic idea is to have your dirt pedals in one loop and leave the other loop empty (=clean). Then you can decide to use the unaltered clean signal or just the bottom end (250Hz and below). This is the way Brian wired it up on his board when he got it. The two fuzzrocious pedals are his main distortion right now (rat=medium gain, mostly always on, demon=trebly higher gain) and feeding the clean signal's low end through the other loop.

I am happy to let everyone know when the second run will be ready and all of the other details. There are 10 to 15 units in the planning, pricing somewhere around $180-200, probably with some option of wine matching since I that is my second nerding topic right now. Also there I am working on a few functional upgrades like phase switching and an expression in.

edit1: btw, I am open to suggestions on new features ;)
edit2: what I described above is just the conventional idea of the pedal. but it turns out to be a great playground for any instrument. imagine sending the low end to a flanger and the top end to a distortion+delay … or blend two tremolos … and so on

I have an idea, would you be able to put a second switch on there that when pressed will switch the filters between the two loops? So Filter A starts sending through Filter Bs stuff, and vice versa.
