There's a schematic for a Stage centre reverb (and one of the kit sites sells it too I think... could be Generalguitargadgets) or you could buy a dano spring king and replace the crappy spring inside and make it useable.

Re: Project ideas (reverb)
Build a reverb unit with a dwell control to feed some of the signal back into the springs, then shockmount and shield the shit out of it. I hate hum.

I love the smell of solder in the morning.

Re: Project ideas (reverb)
Put a pre-amp in front to overdrive it like nuts, and a level control after it to tame it.

Re: Project ideas (reverb)
It has two phono inputs...if I switch out the jacks with 1/4" jacks, will it still work? This has been the only thing stopping me from playing with it. I only have on converter so I've used it as an instrument but not an effect. Also if anyone knows where to point me in building a reverb tank that'd be fantastic.

Don’t switch the jacks.
Get some Ratshack stereo cables.
That’s a type 4 tank. When you get it you will find a number stamped into the tank that will give you every thing you need to know like input and out put impedance about hooking it up.
Check here to figure out exactly what you have.

Type 4...
Is that enough to build a reverb unit?

As long as you get the “gozeinta” and “Gozeouta” correct any tank can be used to build a reverb unit around.
