how to use an EB volume pedal as an expression pedal? I know it's been mentioned on here before but there's never been a definitive answer and I don't want to shell out the $$$ for their exp. pedal if I don't have to.
I've tried running just a normal guitar cable from the EB OUT to the exp. IN on my delay. Nothing.
I've tried running a Y cable with every combination of OUT, IN, and TUNER on the EB to the exp. IN on my delay. Nothing.
I've tried a TRS cable from the EB OUT to the exp. IN on my delay. Nothing.
Is there anything I haven't tried? Is this just not possible? Or should one of these methods have worked and maybe the delay in question isn't suited for the EB?
thanks!
nevermind.....

Re: ok, can someone CLEARLY explain...
Which EB pedal and which delay pedal? There are many factors that can make it still not work even if you do hook it up correctly.
The EB vp jr 25k is the one you want for use as an expression pedal. The other ones won't work with most/all pedals.

Re: ok, can someone CLEARLY explain...
hmm, it just says "Ernie Ball Pedal" on the sides and then "Volume Pedal" where the jacks are...no mention of vp jr. 25k...it's been sitting around for a while so I don't remember what it was called when I got it.
the delay in question is a DMB Lunar Echo.
-EDIT- ah, I see...it would say 25k and VP on it were it the right pedal...stupid compatibility issues...

Re: nevermind.....
yeah, if you want to use an Ernie Ball volume pedal as an expression pedal the 25k pedal works best because more times than not whichever pot inside the pedal is being manipulated by the expression pedal jack is usually around the 25k range.... the volume pedal you are talking about is 250k and you'll notice if you plug it in with a Hosa splitter cable (Hosa STP-201 Insert Y-Cable) you only have control of the effect for the last 1/8th of the rocker....
get the Ernie Ball Jr. 25k and a Hosa STP-201 Insert Y-Cable) then -if you can- open up the pedal and check out the ohm's of the pot that is connected to the expression jack....
make sense?

Re: nevermind.....
Place a 30kish (27k being the closest decade series resistor so probably that) resistor accross lugs 1 & 3 of the 250k pot inside and you'll have a pot closer to 25k in value.
