I can get FX500 reverb+mod sounds with Eventide Space and Zoom MS70 and I'm happy with either.

I believe there's another run of chrome supermoons happening for anyone who needs that qualude vertigo sound.

RV-5 is definitely good. HOF's mod reverb isn't that good. I had the Source Audio Reverb and it's Mod was pretty good.

That thing is so limited in its controls, and it's sooooo soupy.

Maybe I just suck. :animal:

A lot of mod reverb or mod delay is as untweakable as a knobless chorus pedal. You're at the mercy of the algorithm designer if you have no control, and you either like it or don't.

thank you everyone for the wealth of replies
I am happy to have a variety of suggestions

some thoughts,

-the rv-5 does have a nice modulation sound
-the mr. black recommendation is very good. I like the supermoon and the chrome. I am glad to hear there will be a new run of chromes
-I have never used the toneprint on the HOF. I will try this now, before purchasing anything.
-flerb is not really appealing to me, at least as I have experienced it
-I am looking for more control over the modulation. At minimum, depth and rate. This seems rare in modulated reverb pedals, although I think I can do this in the toneprint?
-bitquest

and for some findings of my own:
the digitech supernatural
is it essentially the digitech version of the t.c. t2?
I like the idea of a reverb pedal with a multitude of modulation effects and shimmer

BitQuest def.
But my fav modulated reverb sounds, short of an actual plate reverb are from stacking Uni Vibe>RRR plate 1 and slamming them with fuzz

thank you for this recommendation

I like this pedal so far quite a bit
in particular I enjoyed the 'hold' function of this pedal
and of course the aforementioned requisite 'depth' and 'speed' controls
