Stacy Sutherland and his use of reverb is pretty WTF too.dubkitty wrote:the 13th Floor Elevators' "Easter Everywhere" album. it's amplifier vibrato played with some kind of effect on, but it's weird as...well, as Roky.

Yes! Loveless! I think the first song I heard off that album was To Here Knows When. A definite WTF moment, followed by countless more once I listened to the rest of the album.sonidero wrote:Brad Laner solos, Polvo, Squarepusher, Crust, Quasimoto, Loveless...
I get those moments, still to this day, when I listen to the Pumpkin's Machina album. The layers are so smeared and indecipherable and beautiful. The toanz and production on that album are the reason why it's my favorite Pumpkins album despite my better judgement. Somehow it feels both nostalgic and new even after 15 years of listening. Plus, to the best of my knowledge, it was the first time I heard an ebow being used.
Ok, I'll get off Corgan's dick now.

I felt the same way about Machina when it came out.
The synth work is great.
I haven't listened to it in a long time but I remember feeling that the moments of amazeballs action were eclipsed by the directionless ambling that the song writing suffers from.
The production is fucking incredible.

I used to listen to the intro of Only Shallow obsessively. Thanks for reminding me of that. Angry Squid guitar ftw.

literally the first sound in the song, and it reoccurs throughout the song. i have no idea what combination of pedals (my best guess is the space station and whammy?) nick uses for building that sound but i know he's triggering it with his dl4. i think.

Pitch shifter or harmonizer with dry signal left in into a very short delay with regeneration/repeats up? Just a first guess.bewatersound wrote:
