Re: slowest phaser (that's not a Whetstone)?
I dunno, you need a really fat phaser to get those juicy slow slow sweeps in my opinion so I'd get something vocal sounding with multiple stages, I don't think a 2 or 4 stage phaser is going to cut it, apart from a slow modded old Small Stone maybe.
Going from that I'd rule out the Apollo, Mr Wire and probably also the Effectrode.

Thanks, guys.
Yeah, you're probably right, Tristan. Maybe I should just get a Bi-Phase or Pi-Phase.
Was not aware of the Faze Filter, micromegas. Despite what the builder claims, doesn't sound like it goes "uber slow" to me (at least not from what I heard in that video).
I forgot I was also interested in the Grand Orbiter, kaeth, not sure it goes slow enough. I know it does a fixed phase as well though.

Never tried it... but this seems slow.

Infanem - Faye Sing B - $255 (If I can find one.)
Faye's Her - $??? (If I can find one.)
SolidGoldFX Apollo - $250
What else?
Chase Bliss Wombtone?
$375. Girl you crazy. Good luck finding one that goes for retail! hahaha. I bought mine for 450 and it's the polished one. Which means I got a great fucking deal on it! LOL.
Clearance (HAHAHAHA at that price!!! WTF!)
http://www.prymaxevintage.com/infanem-c ... clearance/
Much more reasonable (ask them for a discount. I almost guarantee they'll do it)

So I love phasers and I got to say I was totally unimpressed with both versions of Infanems phaser. I'm not sure what it was, but those fucking things are way to goddamn finicky for me. I like the lush, swoosh of a phaser. Like yourself I want it to be pretty slow.
So my favorite right now is the Toneczar, but obviously it's really expensive.
So I would look into other options.
The one on the Mobius (which is also expensive) is probably one of the best I've ever heard and I would almost guarantee it'll do what you want. It's super lush and just sooooooo good.
The one on the Source Audio Manta is also fucking amazing. It's low pass as well, which just makes it better. Not sure how slow it goes, but pretty slow.
The Flanger Hoax has some really, really good ones too.
The one Tom came out with also sounds fucking brilliant.
The Solid Gold is on my list as well.

Prymaxe has 30% off clearance, which means it's $199.50, but it's also not the Faye Sing B

yeah, I was more saying that you dont necessarily need more stages for it to sound better, but maybe it would sound shitty slowerChankgeez wrote:Doesn't quite go slow enough.kbithecrowing wrote:Iunno man, a slow ass small stone still sounds pretty awesome and thats 2/4 stages.

Yea I know it's not a B. They both fucking suck so either way it doesn't matter. Just thought I'd share the link.
Kind of weird they have the older model just sitting around still.
I'm sure that if you really wanted one you'd be able to find it.

Yeah, I kinda agree, but I do get what Tristan's saying too. I think the more stages you've got, generally, the better it stands out through mucho fuzz.kbithecrowing wrote:

Also, I'm not buying from Prymaxe or Rogue. (Not totally sold on those Infanems though either. So,

Defintely more pickier about phasers than I am with fuzz (and about where I buy said phasers or fuzzes).

Re: slowest phaser (that's not a Whetstone)?
I can highly recommend the Moog MF103, if you've got the space on your board. Been using it for almost 2 years now (always with at least 1 expression pedal) and it has lead phasing to become a staple sound for some of our songs. I'm currently trying to downsize to a Wombtone so I can fit some additional stuff on my board, but I got the Mk 1 just before the 2 was released and it turns out I really need a mix knob with my phase sounds ('amount' on the Moog), so I'm currently waiting for my Mk 2 to get here
. Joel also told me the Mk 2 goes much slower than the 1, but I can't compare them to each other, or the Mk 2 to the Moog, until it gets here. Mk 1 doesn't really go as slow as the Moog but it does have tap tempo and presets and since I mess with my settings a lot those are also great features to have.
I've considered getting a Faye Sing B before it was discontinued/before I got the Wombtone, but ultimately decided that for ring-mod-esque sounds I want an actual ring modulator, not a fast phaser, and the Wombtone can do fixed/manual phasing as well, and those were the main attractions. Plus the Wombtone has a smaller footprint.
Also, my uncle owns an Effectrode Phaseomatic, and while it has a beautiful tone, I prefer the MF103
. Probably mostly because of the amount/mix knob that is lacking on the PM-2C.
