I'm a huge fan of that cover of MBV. Has anyone here by chance recorded at Electronical? I've been thinking about it. I was also really impressed by what I heard Allen Epley do at Matt Talbott's studio, Earth Analog.

Go see Shiner if you have the opportunity. I got to see them twice before they broke up, and while I was definitely 'superfan' at that time, they were truly killer.

All of their albums are excellent. For the uninitiated--if you like the heavier side of things, go for their earlier albums Splay and Lula Divinia; shoegaze-ier, try Starless; if more upbeat and mathy does it for you, crack The Egg.

My copy of The Egg reissue came today! Finally managed to find one, and sealed at that. Sounds great.

I fucking wish.

I'm the biggest fan of Allen Epley's bands.

I went to see Sweet Cobra and The Life and Times last night at Hideout. Really intimate gig. Epley is really thoughtful about how he uses effects, and a lot of the time it sounds like there are two guitarists. It's always in sync and well executed.

For the uninitiated: https://thelifeandtimes.bandcamp.com/al ... -like-i-do

I'm not sure if he splits his signal, but he seems to go into a Hiwatt Custom 100 (into what looks like a small 2x12" cab) and an AC30.

As soon as the LP popped up I jumped on it.

From last time I see them I noticed that he has a lot of pre-recorded tracks on his Jamman, mostly the "tremolo" and synthy sounds that he usually plays when he brings the keys to the stage.

Drummer is a beast.
