Absolute best on board Power system
Ok I am going to break down and get a power system.
Feeling like John Snow here.... I know nothing.
I have seen voodoo but I am wondering are there other good options.

Cioks, Walrus. People like the T-Rex and such, too. I don't think you can go wrong as long as it has isolated power and has enough connections for what you're powering. (idk)

I like the voodoo and the cioks stuff
I would like to note that, because they're all pretty good, it's more important to get the power supply that fits your specific needs
and of course, support potential growth
for example, my friend's board is small but has more digital, high current pedals than 100ma, so it makes more sense for him to get the pedal power digital than say, a cioks dc8

The Cioks Links series is also modular for your pedalboard growth in the future -- different power supplies can be connected together. I feel like the Voodoo Labs stuff did this too but I can't remember, I've never had Voodoo Labs power.

Re: Absolute best on board Power system
The T. rex stuff I've tried has had kinda crap power filtering, so isolation isn't necessarily only what you're looking for. If you can: test a finicky old high gain fuzz, or if not that then anything brutally high gain. Max the gain and zero the volume on your guitar. How the pedal behaves under these conditions is an indication of how clean the ac is filtered to dc.

If you've got a big board, the new Walrus Audio ones look amazing. I have a 4X4 Voodoo Labs, and it's dead silent, not too heavy....pretty solid overall.

I've been meaning to upgrade to the Walrus Phoenix -- two OneSpots with 3 daisy chains (all the low current draw pedals on two daisy chains) is not cutting it anymore. But the Cioks chain able stuff is neat -- I'm just not keen on having to buy at least 2 modules to get started for my board.

Voodoo labs will, I've used them for a while, I like-ish them, only issue I've ever had is too many moogers on at once and it hates you and things get wonky..mathias wrote:The Cioks Links series is also modular for your pedalboard growth in the future -- different power supplies can be connected together. Re: Absolute best on board Power system
Depends on what you consider "best". As of right now, Voodoo Labs is the ONLY reasonably priced truly isolated device on the market. That means, every single plug is isolated. Not the case with Cioks. Read their site. You could go all trendy and the Walrus Audio one. Looks cool, not that anyone will see it. LOL.
So let me refine what I said. It depends on the model too with both brands. For me I like Voodoo Labs. It's cheaper and works perfect. I will say what Mudfuzz says is true, but it may be because the MA requirement of the pedals is putting a lot of strain on the supply, a bad supply or that it's being over heated by not being able to vent. Or many, many other issues there could be. haha. So hard to tell.
For 9v center neg. I think it's king though. That's my opinion.
