(Mine was more ramshackle, no paint and no volume knob though)

Did you have a single coil on it like the one pictured? If so how did it sound?

It did and I really liked it! The only problem was that it wasn't even volume along the whole scale. I used a kalimba from a store and the spacing of the metal thingies wasn't fit for the pickup. It was either throwing four of them out or dealing with the higher tones not getting picked up. I decided to keep it like that. Would I build another, I'd probably just use a 7 string PU for it. And house a pot and the jack in a small hammond casing glued or screwed under the wooden part. Maybe try and find a more bassy Kalimba too, the higher pitched metal thingies did not vibrate enough to get picked up well either.

Damnit. Need to figure out how to do that with my current hardware or I may be in the same boat.

There is a Roland Juno-106 near me for $300 and I'm trying to decide if I should jump on this or not. Be my guiding voice of reason, ILF.

I got similar results out of the Goatkeeper controlling a Boss PS-3...

I've been thinking about modular synthesizers lately. I'm really worried for my sanity.
Good deals: OsbornKT, Phantasmagorovich, UglyCasanova, DarkAxel, Skip, D.o.S, ColdBrightSunlight, Eivind August, Goroth

If you don't want it buy it anyway. I'd trade you a bunch of dirt pedals for it and pay for you to ship it to me.
