That demo is what actually convinced me to find one. Loved the sound.
Speaking of which, where is UG? I miss my daily demos.

Rhys has a Repeater for sale (197 AU$):

Maybe even in the old look. At least there's no new pic with the new "logo".

hey pepe, some of rhys' gear has moments of originality to it but this one is basically just this old vox circuit...

http://tagboardeffects.blogspot.co.uk/2 ... ssion.html
in a $200 tin.
have a listen to vox repeat percussion samples on yt.
and don't get mugged.
if you want one, ask someone here to build your board and get a beautiful laura bennett hand-painted enclosure https://www.facebook.com/laurabennettart to put it in. support the artists not the chancers.

Yeah, I know what it is. Nonetheless I'd love to get such a Seppuku Repeater in this housing one day.

you are entitled to your preference, pepe. if you want that box. but i think rhys is taking you for a ride to sell you a repeater clone for $200. not much integrity in that sort of business. a lazy branding job. the guy is capable of more and should give you more. "one does not applaud the tenor for clearing his throat" ('dangerous liaisons')
btw eqd does a better clone than this called the humming bird. he's in the shark tank here if you want to check out his thread.

Re: Seppuku FX
I'm with tabbycat on some of this seppuku stuff. Anybody here ever try the seppuku ic water. I haven't but wanted to at one point until I realized it was a slightly circuit bent version of this...

I mean am I missing somthing here. Seems like the same sort of shit vertex is being crucified for over at tgp minus the goop. Just can't support this especially at a $200 dollar mark up on a junk delay pedal. Suprised this hasn't been brought to light earlier, or maybe I missed somthing.

Re: Seppuku FX
I have the IC Water/Digital Water, and it has been discussed several times in this thread and other threads. It sounds nothing like the NUX. The only thing they share as far as settings go, is the looper function. Looking at the pedal world at large, there are only a handful of circuits around. They're all variations, takes and bends of the same old stuff, and most of them only have microscopical differences in sound. Nothing sounds like the digital water. If that's not worth checking out, I don't know what is.

Re: Seppuku FX
Thanks for the clarification, I just couldn't send the guy $250 knowing the pedal started its life as a nux or a donner. Would gladly of handed over the cash if the pedal was built from the ground up, but then who knows how much it would've costed.
Well aware of circuits being loose interpretations of others. One of my favorite pedals is the lastgasp lluna which is loosely based on the parallel universe fuzz. I had no problem handing over the cash to Mr. Lastgasp as the pedal was built from the ground up, with some of his ideas added to mix, and a voltage control that actually uses all of its range.

Re: Seppuku FX
Yeah. I edited my last post to comment on that. Re-edited and posted here instead:
The difference is that he is literally using the circuit and repainting the enclosure instead of making the exact same circuit with it's tweaks and additions and putting it in another enclosure. Not liking that is like saying appropriation art is not art, IMHO. Which is fine, but I don't agree.
And then there will be people who say: "But he's not even using expensive/rare parts, dørrrr". To those I simply say: so fucking what? He's fucking creative! He came up with the idea and follwed through, turning nothing (cheap parts/regular sounding pedals) into something awesome (pedals which sound nothing like no other pedal), with the exception being the Repeater, as far I know. That's worthy of credit and hence my money.
I love the Lluna too, btw. Awesome pedal!

Re: Seppuku FX
I seem to recall the Repeater was fairly reasonably priced years ago, and Rhys was always upfront as to what it was. I imagine current repeater prices are about supply and demand. It seems like a bit of an odd choice to spend the bucks on one rather one of his unique circuits, but not my money, so whatever floats your boat.
I dunno, I credit some r&d and know-how in hacking an existing digital product versus changing out a couple parts in a wah. I can do the later any Saturday, and the Crybaby circuit is far from a mystery. I'd probably need a month and a stack of Nux delays to be disposable in order to find a bend that didn't kill it, much less sounded good.
