Fuck/Mini vs Driving Notion?

I've had my Fuck for a while now and am toying with moving on. How does the Driving Notion compare? Demos only go so far. Can the driving notion do a similar raspy, almost gated low-gain OD? It seems like it gets hella crackly? How do the Mini and Notion compare? I might just go downsize from Fuck --> Mini

I love my mini more than the fuck but love both indeed...I can't speak on the driving notion, since I haven't played it, but it doesn't seem to have too much overlap.

Much different. Fuck/Mini is a lot girthier than the DN. DN is clanky and raspy and grindy and gated. And sounds awesome slammed with other dirt, but it doesn't sound as huge as the mini/fuck get.

For me on guitar the Driving Notion actually sounds bigger, it has more wool on the bass while also having the clanky highs.
Driving Notion is more a weird dirt though, it's not very likely to become your main overdrive sound if you're looking for a regular overdrive with a little touch of weirdness, it's weird all the way.
Stacking other dirt into it is great though and can get you some rocking rhythm tones as well as trumpety or synthy lead tones.
I love the Driving Notion, the Mini lacked character and was only just okay for me.

The DN is quite different definitely, as Tristan said I don't think it can do simple overdrive, it's always gated with a strange attack. I loved the one I tried but the fuck for me is a better always on type OD and the DN was more of a "special effect" sort of thing.

It does that clanky sound like nothing else I've heard though so if that's what you want it's a good shout.

Hmmmmmmmm. Maybe I'll just keep my Fuck for now. But I might replace the momentary with a latching footswitch. I love having the crackle threshold way up for heavy parts, but holding my foot down gets old.

I love my Mini. The DN is weird, as others have said. In my brief time with it, I wasn't able to tame it in quite the same way as others like neonblack have, and so I sent it on its way to someone else who was able to fall in love with it. The Mini is just straight up awesome, I don't think you could get a bad sound from it if you tried. It is my current "always on" pedal, and I don't see that changing anytime soon.

i sold my driving notion too. it's one of those unique pedals that i sometimes think i'd like to try again with a different setup. but with the amps i was/am using it was a bit extreme for me - the high section was too high and the low section too low

I prefer the Fuck over the Mini. Never played the DN though, sorry. But yeah, don't get rid of the Fuck or not having one will come back to haunt you. Trust me, I know.

I think the Driving Notion is also pretty dependent on pickups, amps, other pedals, etc. With my 4 string bass with a humbucker it had a lot more girth and oomph than my bass VI with single coils. Definitely more clank and grind with single coils.
