It's arrived!

Customs got it on the 6th but didn't deign to send it to me until yesterday. And I had to pay them €40 for the privledge. Poo!

But I have managed to plug in the mantis for a few minutes before lunch and it is already worth every cent. Holy crap, this is great. Hands down the best octave down pedal ever. Can't wait to explore some more and do some demos.

How long can the box live with me and who's next in the hitlist?

it's 5-6 days for the euro (since there are 5 pedals), i will pm later tonight the info of the next member (and post the order here).

The terra: the 2 unlabeled knobs the bottom one is for volume for the main fuzz voice (the other vol knob is for the secondary fuzz voice that is linked to the exp jack), and the upper one is for gain (all the knobs works for the 2 voices).

The mantis is a beast, the little triangles are the vol for the octave voices, one triangle is -1 voice vol, and the 2 triangles is -2 voice vol. The expression jacks are for external TRS expression or cv control of the width for each voice. Try running the mantis into the gyroscope and also into a modulated delay. The 5 knobber has a special place in my heart, but the 6 knobber is like a monster.

Sorry about the custom thing, i'll try to chip in

Hey, that tourbox should stay longer with people in communist europe. We make vids... And that means committing a full afternoon to this...

yeah, but the thing is mostly with 5-6 days and 3-4 days on the post, probably it will take 3 users per month and the tour will be around 2-3 months, if the time was larger it gets harder to keep everything under control. I understand the time/effort commitment about the videos (and i am very gratefull that you take the time to do it  ), but honestly those are optional. But at the end of the tour if you want to have another go on the box so you can spend more quality time, it's ok and doable. And i want to do another version of eurotour with other pedals in the 2015, so if you like the eurobox1 you can also hit hard the eurobox2 :!!!:  .

The six knob mantis is so different from the five knob. Five knob is like super brutal and the 6 knob is very controllable. Will have to do a shootout :)

Don't worry about customs, it was always a risk. I even had to pay customs on my Meet Maude (which is already paid customs on once) even though it was marked at 50 dollars and as a repair. Weird. We've recently had a power change in parliament - maybe someone decided customs has to make more money?

Maybe it's an EU thing, I've had that happen to me since 2014, literally cost me hundreds of euro's, could be even over a thousand. :(
Anyway, I'll chip in some too since one of the pedals in there I think is my custom Caracol. ;)
You can probably file a complaint for the Meet Maude, what they did there is probably illegal right?
Even with this box you could have a case if you make it clear it's a tourbox and you're not going to keep the pedals.

I finally managed to get the recordings uploaded to YouTube.
I especially recommend checking out the sounds you can get with the 8-Step.

oldangelmidnight, super sick stuff, thanks, now i need to add a cv jack for the amount knob and the oscillation switch, and a lfo and sync all together

I'll post the euro tour order this weekend, dont have internet (only mobile data) so its a bit hard to access the pm's and organize the order, so it travels the less amount of space from user to user.

The least amount of distance would have been: Norway -> Sweden -> The Netherlands -> France :D
I'll have to pay customs charges receiving a package from Norway, I'm guessing it's the same for D'Arcy but I'm not sure.
Just trying to keep costs down. ;)
If you send me the cities through Whatsapp I can do the Google Distance Calculator thing for you as well but the order shouldn't make too much of a difference timewise, it's mostly down to local post, in my experience anyway.
Could be a fair idea to add up all the customs and shipping charges and divide them equally over all EU / Norway guys, what do you think bro's?

UC, I believe that there's a way around the customs for you. If the stuff is declared as commercial samples, you can leave a deposit for the amount of custom fees. Once you re-export it, you get a receipt that will allow you to get your money back. From Norway to the EU, I think it's fine because we have an international convention for that. But, my memories of EU law classes are kind of blurry, so who knows?

Also in favor of the cost harmonization thingy if there's enough difference to justify spending some paypal fees for that - and since at least one of us will avoid customs at some point, it probably will be.

Maybe instead of working with distance - because that may not matter that much money wise, we could work with cost. For a 3KG parcel, I'd pay:
- 25,65 to Norway
- 20,14 to the Netherlands
- 50,35 to Dominican Republic

Maybe we could work out the order in which it's overall the cheapest?

I don't know. I'm way too tired to think straight anyway.
