I see it as mostly just effecting the way you are chopping. I do a sandwich as well so I can do it either way. Verb first lets the trem still chop it up, maintains more defined peaks. Verb after trem smooths everything out. Just depends if you want more or less subtle.

Yep that's where it has traditionally lived, but before I think I had it before delay. Now it is the absolute last in my chain other than my looper to get tremolo on everything.. will have to see where the Afterneath fits in when it gets here.

I use amp verb, so trem always comes before. I like trem last sometimes during recording for the way it sits in a mix, but I like reverb last if I'm just playing guitar.

I do more unconventional reverb like gted or reverse before trem, and spring/plates after trem.

I often find that trem gets lost if it's before reverb. Especially if it's any shape other than square wave or if it's a really washy reverb.

Reverb is a fake room, it always goes last.

I should note that my amp has a really really nice spring reverb, and I'll be building myself a footswitch soon so that I can toggle it from my board.

So thinking (simplifying my chain a ton to call out important bits)

Univibe -> RRR -> Dirt -> Modulation (including delay) -> Afterneath -> Dirge Companion Fuzz + Tap Tempo Tremolo -> Amp (which has spring reverb)

Lots of choices there.

Just remembered that I also have a Malekko tremolo in one of those tiny cases -- usually it stays on my Pedaltrain nano but the nano is currently on loan to another guitarist.

I guess I could put the Malekko Trem between modulation and Afterneath for even more options!

both of them are rad, but a square wave trem chopping up a 100% verb with hella decay is one of my favorite sounds ever.

Depends a lot on what type of verb.

And I don't have to make a choice of just one with parallel chains, multiple verb and trem options, etc!

There are also random LFO modes on a number of other tremolos, inc the musicpcb.com DIY trem

For really cavernous reverbs I like to put trem after verb. Otherwise I typically do trem > verb.

the correct answer is probably BOTH

just get more reverb pedals

I have been using amp trem a ton lately however, and chopping everything is wicked awesome
