yup, all the time!

might be my favorite flanged->lead boost-> flanged stompbox ever.

the buttons sit right were you can hit them both really easy. or not. unless you have a huge foot.

+1 when you hook up an expression pedal and sweep the lag time. Gets trippy tape delay and borders on record scratching....

Cool. I've owned the El Cap, which I liked a lot, but eventually got a Timeline, which is great. Also have a Lex, the most convincing non-Leslie Leslie I've ever heard in a pedal.

I'm a real nerd for Beatle-y tape-y kinda stuff, and the Deco seems to be exactly what I'd want in a "Beatle Box", so to speak. And I think I would use it properly, too, not just as some kind of "transparent overdrive". I'd be using it exclusively on "studio mode" into my digital 8-track. So yeah, a little bit of tape saturation to every track, vocals, drums, guitar, etc., and then a little bit of flange or wobble every once in a while.

Can you use the "Wobble" function without a chorus or flange effect? Like can I just use a bit of tape saturation and have some wobble in there without anything else?

Thanks!

The wobble effects the delayed/lagged signal. But you can get all sorts of warped sounds. And the saturation is totally separate.

if you blend all wet it's just straight up tape modulation, and based on where the lag time is it kinda effects the speed of the modulation, it's all very subtle though as compared to the warped vinyl.

you beat me to the post! All correct, and yes it's not super nutso...unless you blend in some dry signal, then it gets more warped.

really itching to order a Deco for just what you described, purely for recording purposes. looking at this and one of the new rolands for adding similar vibes/textures to my solo tracks. does that seem like a waste? is there anything better out there for this kind of thing? might be up to flavor, I guess

I don't think you'll find anything with better audio quality. I vote do it!

does it compress with fuzz or loaded signals? I'm guessing not especially with studio mode, but confirmation would sell me on this thing. seems rad as hell for stereo and the demos sound pretty awesome..

Sounds good. I would actually prefer it being subtle. I like the Instant Lofi Junky but it's a little too patterned, though cool. Subtle and random would be what I prefer.

I'd just like to be able to add a bit of tape saturation to all my tracks, and a very subtle wobble without it being a flange, chorus, or delay. Can it do that?

Addendum:

What the hell happens when you set the Lag knob to the struckthrough 0? Is that "no lag"? So if I put the Lag knob there, at "no lag", and then I blend it well, can I get just a slight pitch modulation AND tape saturation going?

THANKS!

it'll start flanging around then unless you have it blended all the way wet. if you blend it all the way it'll just be pitch modulation.

Shiiiiiiiiit. Probably means I can't do Tape Saturation with just a little bit of pitch modulation. Ah well.

So with the Lag knob there is no "no lag" setting?

Thanks!

Strymon need to hurry up and make a full looper (emphasis on the simulated tangibility of tape, rather than like unmoving unstretching unwarping loopers)

i mean, the tape saturation does effect the other side too so it's totally possible. i was trying to tell you that you can, just need to have it blended close to all the way wet to avoid any flanging, and set the wobble knob to taste.

i'd record you a little clip of what it sounds like but i need to leave for work in about 10 minutes.
